The alarming rise in environmental pollution, depletion of global resources, and increasing health consciousness have placed significant pressure on the development of eco-friendly, sustainable materials. Consequently, green, environmentally friendly materials made from biobased and/or biodegradable sources are gaining recognition and political support as sustainable alternatives to petroleum-based, non-biodegradable materials. Bio-based packaging materials, in particular, are widely used across all industrial sectors, with a growing demand for solutions that preserve food quality and extend shelf life.

Wind energy plays a crucial role as a renewable source for electricity generation, especially in remote or isolated regions without access to the main power grid. The intermittent characteristics of wind energy make it essential to incorporate energy storage solutions to guarantee a consistent power supply. This study introduces the design, modeling, and control mechanisms of a self-sufficient wind energy conversion system (WECS) that utilizes a Permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) in conjunction with a Water pumping storage station (WPS).

Fault detection, classification, and location prediction are crucial for maintaining the stability and reliability of modern power systems, reducing economic losses, and enhancing system protection sensitivity. This paper presents a novel Hierarchical Deep Learning Approach (HDLA) for accurate and efficient fault diagnosis in transmission lines. HDLA leverages two-stage transformer-based classification and regression models to perform Fault Detection (FD), Fault Type Classification (FTC), and Fault Location Prediction (FLP) directly from synchronized raw three-phase current and voltage samples.

In developing countries, orphan legumes stand at the forefront in the struggle against climate change. Their high nutrient value is crucial in malnutrition and chronic diseases prevention. However, as the 'orphan' definition suggests, their seed systems are still underestimated and seed production is scanty.

In the present work, we report on theoretical studies of thermodynamic properties, structural and dynamic stabilities, dependence of unit-cell parameters and elastic constants upon hydrostatic pressure, charge carrier effective masses, electronic and optical properties, contributions of interband transitions in the Brillouin zone of the novel TlHgGeSe crystal. The theoretical calculations within the framework of the density-functional perturbation theory (DFPT) are carried out employing different approaches to gain the best correspondence to the experimental data. The present theoretical data indicate the dynamical stability of the title crystal and they reveal that, under hydrostatic pressure, it is much more compressible along the a-axis than along the c-axis.

Conductive polymers, such as polyaniline (PANI), have interesting applications, ranging from flexible electronics, energy storage devices, sensors, antistatic or anticorrosion coatings, etc. However, the full exploitation of conductive polymers still poses a challenge due to their low processability. The use of compatible stabilizers to obtain dispersible and stable colloids is among the possible solutions to overcome such drawbacks.

Objectives: Novel noise reduction and QRS detection algorithms in Electrocardiogram (ECG) signal based on Empirical Mode Decomposition (EMD), Ensemble Empirical Mode Decomposition (EEMD) and the Modified Sigmoid Thresholding Function (MSTF) are proposed in this paper.
Methods: EMD and EEMD algorithms are used to decompose the noisy ECG signal into series of Intrinsic Mode Functions (IMFs). Then, these IMFs are thresholded by the MSTF for reduction of noises and preservation of QRS complexes.

Background: Genital HPV infection is recognized worldwide as one of the most common, if not the most common, sexually transmitted infection. Several studies have shown a higher prevalence of HPV infection in women living with HIV (WLWH). We aimed to determine the prevalence of HPV, the circulating genotypes, and its association with risk factors among Algerian WLHIV.

An efficient optimization technique based on a metaheuristic and an artificial neural network (ANN) algorithm has been devised. Particle swarm optimization (PSO) and ANN were used to estimate the removal of two textile dyes from wastewater (reactive green 12, RG12, and toluidine blue, TB) using two unique oxidation processes: Fe(II)/chlorine and HO/periodate. A previous study has revealed that operating conditions substantially influence removal efficiency.
