White spot lesions (WSLs) are a common complication after treatment using fixed orthodontic appliances. Decalcification of enamel surrounding fixed orthodontic appliances, known as WSLs, poses a significant aesthetic difficulty during and after treatment, as the purpose of fixed orthodontic therapy is to improve facial and dental appearance. Modern dentistry utilizes remineralization therapies to non-invasively treat WSLs to prevent the progression of disease and enhance the strength, appearance, and functionality of the affected tooth.

Our previous clinical observations showed that platelet rich fibrin (PRF) can be used to deliver antibiotics to attenuate postoperative complications after unilaterally impacted mandibular third molar surgery (IMTMS). In order to begin understanding the mechanism involved in the beneficial effects of PRF-mediated delivery of antibiotics, studies were performed, which showed that PRF preparations containing amoxicillin/clavulanic acid or clindamycin significantly inhibited the growth of S. aureus bacteria.

Radiotherapy affects salivary glands more intensely than it does other organs, and salivary gland dysfunction can continue during or after treatment. The aim of this study was to examine structural alterations in submandibular glands through ultrasonography following head-neck radiotherapy in patients and to evaluate the impact of radiation dose on these modifications. Forty-six submandibular glands were assessed ultrasonographically for the changes in echogenicity, echotexture, and margin and the influence of the radiation dose on these changes before radiotherapy at 3 time points: the second and sixth months following starting treatment.

Expeditious strides in the fields of biomaterials, computer-aided design, and manufacturing have catapulted clear aligner therapy (CAT) to become a comprehensive orthodontic treatment modality. The efficiency of achieving planned tooth movement with clear aligners is a significant consideration while setting up the final treatment goals, as well as calculating treatment times and costs based on the available evidence. Contemporary research outcomes confirm that one of the most commonly reported clinical concerns with CAT is the discrepancy between the prescribed outcome in the digital treatment plan and the clinically achieved outcome from a given series of aligners.
