Community pharmacists are often the most accessible member of the healthcare team to many patients and can play a key role in managing their chronic conditions, such as diabetes or heart disease, through enhanced pharmacy services. Despite their accessibility, pharmacy services are often underutilized due, in part, to a lack of adequate reimbursement models that comprehensively encapsulate all elements of those pharmacy services. While routine documentation of services does collect certain qualitative data, they do not always indicate the nuance of the full scope of services with resulting robust impact and value of those services for the patient and healthcare system.

A current major topic of conversation in academic pharmacy is "curricular hoarding," the overloading of the curriculum due to the steady addition of required knowledge and skills without a concomitant subtraction of existing content. It can be tempting to consider addressing hoarding by just reducing content in the foundational biomedical and pharmaceutical sciences or by shifting some foundational content into prerequisites for admission into the Doctor of Pharmacy program. The health care education literature suggests that this approach would negatively impact the development of the critical and clinical thinking skills needed by a modern pharmacist.

Awards presented by professional associations frequently carry the name of an individual who exemplifies the qualities associated with individuals who are selected as award recipients. Early in the tenure of the award, the recipients and selection committee members are familiar with the name and accomplishments of the individual whose name appears on the award but, over time, members of the Academy may lose the significance the individual played in the association and have little or no memory of how the work of the pioneer laid the foundation for today's practice. This commentary reviews the career, accomplishments, and visionary leadership of Robert K.

Reactive oxygen species (ROS)-mediated immunogenic cell death (ICD) is crucial in radioimmunotherapy by boosting innate antitumor immunity. However, the hypoxic tumor microenvironment (TME) often impedes ROS production, limiting the efficacy of radiotherapy. To tackle this challenge, a combination therapy involving radiotherapy and immune checkpoint blockade (ICB) with anti-programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1) has been explored to enhance antitumor effects and reprogram the immunosuppressive TME.
