The application of absolute quantification in SPECT/CT has seen increased interest in the context of radionuclide therapies where patient-specific dosimetry is a requirement within the European Union (EU) legislation. However, the translation of this technique to diagnostic nuclear medicine outside this setting is rather slow. Clinical research has, in some examples, already shown an association between imaging metrics and clinical diagnosis, but the applications, in general, lack proper validation because of the absence of a ground truth measurement.

Leptin is an adipose tissue hormone that acts as energy sensor and reproductive function regulator. Recent reports suggest that leptin is involved in mitochondrial biogenesis in different tissue cells. Herein, we hypothesized that leptin could also affect Sertoli cells mitochondrial dynamics and biogenesis.

Background And Aims: The impact of endothelial shear stress (ESS) on vessel remodeling in vessels implanted with bioresorbable scaffold (BRS) as compared to metallic drug-eluting stent (DES) remains elusive. The aim of this study was to determine whether the relationship between ESS and remodeling patterns differs in BRS from those seen in metallic DES at 3-year follow-up.
Methods: In the ABSORB II randomized trial, lesions were investigated by serial coronary angiography and intravascular ultrasound (IVUS).
Data on older patients with primary central nervous system lymphoma (PCNSL) are scarce. Comorbidities and performance status frequently compromise outcomes in this group. Medical records for consecutive patients ≥65 years (n = 244) with PCNSL diagnosed 2012-2017 from 14 UK centres were retrospectively reviewed.

Uniportal video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) is the most advanced evolution of the minimally invasive technique, which allows often the possibility to include patients in enhanced recovery programs in order to optimize the therapeutic pathway, shorten the length of stay and reduce hospital costs. Non-intubated VATS procedures allow the performance of surgeries with minimal sedation without general anesthesia, maintaining throughout the operation spontaneous breathing. The principle is to create an iatrogenic spontaneous pneumothorax, which can provide a good lung isolation without the need of a double lumen tube.
