Background: The age of Danish women giving birth to their first child has risen throughout the last 50 years, and the number of women and men who are having their first child when they are at advanced maternal or paternal age is increasing worldwide. Postponing parenthood is not unique to Denmark, as the same pattern is seen especially in other European and Western countries. The aim of this study was in a social media setting to explore reflections on the timing of motherhood among Danish women of reproductive age who not yet had children.

Protein increases satiety by, among other things, increasing the content of certain amino acids in the blood. Plant proteins generally have a lower digestibility than meat proteins. The digestibility increases after extrusion; thereby, extrusion potentially also increases the satiating effect.

In this study, we investigated the combined effects of age, dual-tasking (DT) and a passive hip exoskeleton on gait patterns among senior (SA) and young adults (YA). It was hypothesized that SA will be more affected by DT and that wearing the exoskeleton will improve gait patterns for both groups during DT. Twenty-two SA and twenty-six YA performed a single task (normal walking) and DT walking at their preferred speed with an exoskeleton (EXO), without (noEXO), and a sham version (SHAM) in a randomized and balanced order.

Objective: The birth of a child is a significant life event, possibly accompanied by thoughts and feelings of existential turmoil, which some parents need to share. Maternity care professionals may be unprepared for this, as very few educational initiatives exist with a focus on existential communication. We evaluated the curriculum and delivery of a course in existential communication for midwives.

Introduction: Handgrip strength (HGS) is a strong predictor and easily applicable assessment, indicating a person's physical condition and health. However, many dynamometers are available; therefore, it is essential to ensure that the results of HGS testing using different dynamometers can be used interchangeably. The primary purpose of this study was to investigate the inter-instrument agreement and criterion validity of the Baseline BIMS Digital Grip Dynamometer in comparison with the Jamar electronic dynamometer (Jamar+).

Objective: Digital pathology (DP) is moving into Danish pathology departments at high pace. Conventionally, biomedical laboratory scientists (BLS) and technicians have prepared tissue sections for light microscopy, but workflow alterations are required for the new digital era with whole slide imaging (WSI); digitally assisted image analysis (DAIA) and artificial intelligence (AI). We aim to explore the role of BLS in DP and assess a potential need for professional development.

Background: Malnutrition is a significant issue in hospitals, leading to weight loss and reduced quality of life for patients. Hospital food plays a crucial role in preventing malnutrition, especially for patients with high nutritional risk or malnourishment. However, barriers to providing adequate nutritional care include a lack of tools to record patients' nutritional intake and a limited understanding of energy and protein content in hospital menus.

Objective: Older adults constitute a heterogeneous group, and the focus of the individual physical exercise is often subject to the reasoning and experience of health professionals or exercise physiologists who prescribe them. Thus, this is the first effort to explicitly conceptualise the planning of individualised physical exercise training (PET) for older adults in an outpatient setting and investigate individual exercise preferences.
Design: The concept of PET was developed by researchers, exercise physiologists and health professionals from a real-life outpatient setting using an iterative approach.

Purpose: This study aimed to investigate physiological responses, muscle-tendon unit properties of the quadriceps muscle, and mechanical performance after repeated sprint cycling at optimal and 70% of optimal cadence.
Methods: Twenty recreational cyclists performed as first sprint performance cycling test and during subsequent sessions two repeated sprint cycling protocols at optimal and 70% of optimal cadence, in random order. The muscle-tendon unit outcome measures on the dominant leg included muscle thickness, fascicle length (L), pennation angle (θ), and stiffness for the rectus femoris (RF), vastus lateralis (VL), and vastus medialis muscle (VM) at baseline, immediately after repeated sprint cycling, and 1-h post-exercise.

Introduction: Osteoarthritis (OA) is a common disease with high socioeconomical costs. In Denmark, standard rehabilitation (SR) consists of a combination of patient education and supervised physical exercise involving a standardized neuromuscular training program. As an evidence-based alternative, high-load (>70% 1RM) resistance training (HIRT) has shown positive rehabilitation effects in knee-OA but may not be tolerated in all patients (~25%) due to knee joint pain.
