Giant cell tumor of bone (GCTB) represents an intermediate, locally aggressive tumor, with a peak of incidence in the third decade of life with female predominance (2:1). The distal radius is the third most common localization and especially challenging in the treatment is saving the wrist joint function. In this report, we present a case of a 32-year-old patient diagnosed with a giant cell tumor of the distal radius, primarily treated with curettage of the bone.

Introduction: Molnupiravir and nirmatrelvir/ritonavir are antivirals used to prevent progression to severe SARS-CoV-2 infections and decrease hospitalisation and mortality rates. Nirmatrelvir/ritonavir was authorised in Europe in December 2021, whereas molnupiravir is not yet licensed in Europe as of February 2022. Molnupiravir may be an alternative to nirmatrelvir/ritonavir because it is associated with fewer drug-drug interactions and contraindications.

Purpose: Osteoarthritis (OA), osteoporosis, and bone fractures are frequent aging-related conditions. Regardless of the growing research interest in the effects of hip OA on femoral fracture risk, data about the region specificity of osteodensitometric and hip structure analysis (HSA) parameters of the proximal femora are lacking in aged postmenopausal women with hip OA compared to individuals with femoral neck fragility fracture.
Methods: This study included 76 postmenopausal women admitted for total hip arthroplasty due to non-traumatic femoral neck fracture (FN_Fx group, n = 39) and hip osteoarthritis (OA group, n = 37).

The aim of this article is to provide a short review of the literature concerning the basic principles, usefulness and limitations of ultrasound-guided biopsy of musculoskeletal soft-tissue tumors, with particular focus on core needle biopsies. Musculoskeletal soft-tissue tumors represent a rare and complex group of heterogeneous lesions. Prompt diagnosis of these uncommon lesions can improve the outcome and increase the patient survival rate.

Bone and soft tissue tumors are a largely heterogeneous group of tumors. Biopsy of musculoskeletal (MSK) tumors is sometimes a challenging procedure. Although the open biopsy is still considered the gold standard for the biopsy of MSK lesions, core needle biopsy can replace it in most cases, with similar accuracy and a low complication rate.

Introduction: Besides an effective screening method for developmental dysplasia of the hip, there is certain number of children in whom the condition has been overseen or they have never been screened and the parents have noticed the odd walking pattern in their toddler. Treatment of such patients is controversial. One of the recommended treatment methods because of the short-term hospitalization, but often considered unsuccessful is closed reduction of the hip followed by cast immobilization.

The objective of our study was to evaluate the in vitro wear behavior of fixed bearing designs for total knee arthroplasty in relation to contact mechanics and resultant kinematics for different degrees of congruency. a finite element model was created for three knee articulations with increasing degrees of tibio-femoral congruency (flat, curved, and dished design). For the three different knee design configurations, in vitro wear simulation was performed according to iso 14243-1.

The purpose of this study was to investigate whether radiographic joint space narrowing (JSN) of the lateral knee compartment predicts the histomorphological or immunhistochemical grading in cases of osteoarthritis of the knee joint. The lateral joint space was measured on weight-bearing radiographs. Femoral osteochondral plugs of 29 patients undergoing total knee replacement were obtained from lateral condyles.
