Maternal capabilities to engage in sensitive caregiving are important for infant development and mother-infant-interaction, however, can be negatively affected by cortisol due to a stress response. Previous research suggested that cortisol possibly impairs cognitive functions important for caregiving behavior, which potentially leads to less maternal sensitivity. However, studies investigating the influence of cortisol using endocrine parameters on the mother-infant-interaction during the early postpartum are lacking.

The efficacy of epitope vaccines depends on the included epitopes as well as the probability that the selected epitopes are presented by the major histocompatibility complex (MHC) proteins of a vaccinated individual. Designing vaccines that effectively immunize a high proportion of the population is challenging because of high MHC polymorphism, diverging MHC-peptide binding affinities, and physical constraints on epitope vaccine constructs. Cuprizone (CPZ)-induced alterations in axonal myelination are associated with a period of neuronal hyperexcitability and increased activity of hyperpolarization-activated and cyclic nucleotide-gated (HCN) channels in the thalamocortical (TC) system. Substances used for the treatment of multiple sclerosis (MS) have been shown to normalize neuronal excitability in CPZ-treated mice. The aim of this in vitro study was to investigate the commitment and behavior of dental pulp stem cells (DPSCs) seeded onto two different grafting materials, human dentin particulate (DP) and deproteinized bovine bone matrix (BG), with those cultured in the absence of supplements. Gene expression analyses along with epigenetic and morphological tests were carried out to examine odontogenic and osteogenic differentiation and cell proliferation. Background: We report the results of a prospective study on the immunogenicity of a 3rd dose of BNT162b2 in thoracic organ recipients with no or minimal response following a two-dose BNT162b2 vaccination scheme.
Methods: A total of 243 transplant recipients received a homologue 3rd dose. Anti-SARS-CoV2-immunoglobulins (IgGs) were monitored immediately before (T1), 4 weeks (T2) as well as 2 and 4 months after the 3rd dose.

Background: Endovascular renal denervation reduces blood pressure in patients with mild-to-moderate hypertension, but its efficacy in patients with true resistant hypertension has not been shown. We aimed to assess the efficacy and safety of endovascular ultrasound renal denervation in patients with hypertension resistant to three or more antihypertensive medications.
Methods: In a randomised, international, multicentre, single-blind, sham-controlled trial done at 28 tertiary centres in the USA and 25 in Europe, we included patients aged 18-75 years with office blood pressure of at least 140/90 mm Hg despite three or more antihypertensive medications including a diuretic.

Background: The blood pressure (BP)-lowering efficacy and safety of endovascular ultrasound renal denervation (RDN) in the absence (2 months) and presence (6 months) of antihypertensive medications were previously reported.
Methods: Patients with daytime ambulatory BP ≥135/85 mm Hg after 4 weeks off medication were randomized to RDN (n = 74) or sham (n = 72) and maintained off medication for 2 months.

Injection-site pain (ISP) is a subjective side effect that is commonly reported with the subcutaneous administration of biological agents, yet it may only be a concern to some. Multiple factors related to the product formulation, such as pH, volume and excipients, and/or to the injection process have the potential to contribute to ISP, while patient-related factors, such as low body weight, gender and age, can make an individual more susceptible to experiencing ISP. While total elimination of ISP remains unlikely with any subcutaneously administered agent, it can be minimised by helping the patient to develop a confident and competent injection technique via robust and effective training.

Primary mitochondrial diseases (PMD) refer to a group of severe, often inherited genetic conditions due to mutations in the mitochondrial genome or in the nuclear genes encoding for proteins involved in oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS). The mutations hamper the last step of aerobic metabolism, affecting the primary source of cellular ATP synthesis. Mitochondrial diseases are characterized by extremely heterogeneous symptoms, ranging from organ-specific to multisystemic dysfunction with different clinical courses.
