Background And Hypothesis: Kidney involvement, along with cardiac disease, is the most frequent manifestation of systemic AL amyloidosis usually resulting in nephrotic-range proteinuria. Rarely, deposits predominantly or exclusively affect the intrarenal arterioles or arteries, these vascular-limited forms following a distinct clinical course, but very little is known about these forms. Our work plan at better characterizing renal vascular limited AL amyloidosis.

Objective: Stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) is a therapeutic option in the guidelines for liver primaries after standard strategies like surgery or thermoablation have failed. To assess its efficacy and safety, we reviewed all patients treated by SBRT for a hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) over a six-year period.
Methods And Materials: The study included all patients treated by SBRT for HCC between April 2015 and November 2021 in the University Cancer Institute at Toulouse-Oncopole.

Objective: To elucidate the prognostic implications of mucosal and deep margin distances in oral tongue squamous cell carcinoma (OTSCC), and to assess a different margin cut-off value in T1-T2 versus T3-T4 tumors.
Methods: This single-center retrospective study included 223 patients who received surgery for a primary OTSCC between January 2017 and December 2021.
Results: Multivariable analysis showed that deep margin distance ≥3 mm in T1-T2 tumors and ≥5 mm in T3-T4 tumors was significantly associated with better RFS and OS.

Purpose: Substantial changes have been made in the neck management of patients with head and neck squamous cell carcinomas (HNSCC) in the past century. These have been fostered by changes in cancer epidemiology and technological progress in imaging, surgery, or radiotherapy, as well as disruptive concepts in oncology. We aimed to review changes in nodal management, with a focus on HNSCC patients with nodal involvement (cN+) undergoing (chemo)radiotherapy.

Introduction: As there is no specific antiviral treatment currently available for BK polyomavirus associated nephropathy (BKVAN), its management relies on immunosuppression reduction in kidney transplant patients. Data on efficacy of steroid pulses in this indication are lacking.
Methods: We performed a retrospective monocenter study on 64 patients diagnosed with biopsy-proven BKVAN.

Human platelet lysate (HPL), rich in growth factors, is increasingly recognized for its potential in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. However, its use in liquid or gel form is constrained by limited stability and handling difficulties. This study aimed to develop dry and porous aerogels from HPL hydrogel using an environmentally friendly supercritical CO-based shaping process, specifically tailored for tissue engineering applications.

The bevacizumab (bev)/olaparib (ola) maintenance regimen was approved for BRCA1/2-mutated (BRCAmut) and Homologous Recombination Deficient (HRD) high-grade Advanced Ovarian Cancer (AOC) first line setting, based on a significantly improved progression-free survival (PFS) compared to bev alone in the PAOLA-1/ENGOT-ov25 trial (NCT02477644), where HRD was detected by MyChoice CDx PLUS test. The academic shallowHRDv2 test was developed based on shallow whole-genome sequencing as an alternative to MyChoice. Analytical and clinical validities of shallowHRDv2 as compared to MyChoice on 449 PAOLA-1 tumor samples are presented.

Purpose: Despite sharing the same staging system as oral cavity cancers, upper gingiva and hard palate (UGHP) squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) have several features that make them a different entity. We aimed to analyze oncological outcomes and adverse prognostic factors of UGHP SCC, and assess an alternate T classification specific to UGHP SCC.
Methods: Retrospective bicentric study including all patients treated by surgery for a UGHP SCC between 2006 and 2021.

Introduction: The role of local ablative treatments, including stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT), is an area of active research in oligometastatic patients. Small cell lung cancer (SCLC) has a poor prognosis, with common diffuse metastatic evolution. We evaluated the outcomes after SBRT in uncommon oligoprogressive/oligorecurrent SCLC presentation.

Objective: to compare the rate of occult contralateral neck metastases (OCNM) in oral and oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinomas (SCC) reaching or crossing the midline and to identify risk factors for OCNM.
Materials And Methods: we conducted a single-center retrospective study of oral and oropharyngeal SCC with contralateral cN0 neck. The cohort was divided into a midline-reaching (MR; approaching the midline from up to 10 mm) group and a midline-crossing (MC; exceeding the midline by up to 10 mm) group.

Objective: Indeterminate thyroid nodules (ITN) are common and often lead to (sometimes unnecessary) diagnostic surgery. We aimed to evaluate the performance of two machine learning methods (ML), based on routinely available features to predict the risk of malignancy (RM) of ITN.
Design: Multi-centric diagnostic retrospective cohort study conducted between 2010 and 2020.

Objectives: To identify the factors related to the presence of occult metastases before salvage total laryngectomy (STL) in rcN0 patients and to propose an algorithm to identify patients who do not require neck dissection (ND).
Patients And Methods: This multicentric retrospective study included five centers with recruitment from 2008 to 2018. Inclusion criteria were: i) having been treated for laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma in first intention by radiotherapy (either alone or potentiated or preceded by induction chemotherapy), ii) having received STL with or without ND, iii) having an rcN0 neck at the time of STL.

Objective: The extent of parotidectomy in the management of regional metastatic disease is controversial. This systematic review aimed to appraise data from studies evaluating superficial and total parotidectomy in metastatic cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma and cutaneous malignant melanoma of the head and neck.
Method: A systematic search of PubMed, Embase and Cochrane Library was performed.

Aim: The aims of this study were to assess the survival benefit of optimal vs suboptimal management in elderly patients presenting with upper aerodigestive tract (UADT) cancer for which surgery was the standard of care, and determine if comprehensive geriatric assessment (CGA) was a prognostic factor for survival.
Materials And Methods: This single-center retrospective cohort study was conducted from January 2014 to December 2018. Included patients were aged 70 or older at the time of diagnosis, and presented with UADT cancer with a theoretical indication for curative-intent surgery according to international guidelines.

Objectives: The objective of this review was to determine the rate and risk factors of paratracheal lymph node (PTLN) involvement during total laryngectomy (TL) or total pharyngolaryngectomy (TPL). In addition, we aimed to assess its prognostic significance in terms of survival and peristomal recurrence.
Methods: A comprehensive electronic search was performed on PubMed, EMBASE, and CENTRAL databases.

Standard reading passages allow for the study of the integrated functions of speech and voice components in contextual, running speech, with target stimuli in a controlled environment. In both clinical practice and research, these texts provide rapid insight into the characteristics of the patient's speech, with fewer hesitations than in conversational speech and better predictability by the evaluator. Although a plethora of texts exist in different languages, they present various limitations.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to identify the socio-professional and behavioral factors influencing decision-making between surgical and non-surgical treatment in Upper AeroDigestive Tract (UADT) oncology among surgeons and oncologists.
Materials And Methods: We conducted a nationwide online survey among surgeons and medical or radiation oncologists treating head and neck cancer patients in France. The questionnaire collected physicians' demographics, type of practice, individual behavioral characteristics (attitudes toward risk and uncertainty) and data on decision-making via clinical case scenarios.
