Biobased materials are an important step towards a sustainable future. The need for these materials, which stand out in terms of their environmental and economic benefits, is increasing daily. This study includes the production of new bio based nanocomposites containing a blend of biopolymer chitosan (CS) and synthetic polymethacrylate derivative poly(2-oxo-2-(3,4,5-trifluoroanilino)ethyl-2-methylprop-2-enoate)(POTFAMA) and biosynthesized zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO NPs) by hydrothermal method.

In the present study, green synthesis of silver nanoparticles (VNE-AgNPs) via Verbascum nudatum extract was carried out for the first time. The synthesized AgNPs were characterized by different spectral methods such as UV-vis, FTIR, XRD, TEM, and EDAX. According to TEM analyses, the average size range of AgNPs was 17-21 nm, and the dominant peaks in the 111°, 200°, 221°, and 311° planes in the XRD pattern indicated the Ag-NPs FCC crystal structure.

The aim of this study was to produce new nanocomposites with antimicrobial, antioxidant and anticancer properties that can be used in biomedical research based on carboxymethyl cellulose (NaCMC) biopolymer. First, poly(2-oxo-2-(pentafluorophenoxy)ethyl-2-methylprop-2-enoate) (PPFMA) was synthesized and characterized by FTIR and NMR techniques. It was then blended with NaCMC by in situ/hydrothermal method to produce a semi-synthetic functional material.

We report the synthesis, molecular docking and anticancer properties of the novel compound (E)-1-methyl-9-(3-methylbenzylidene)-6,7,8,9-tetrahydropyrazolo[3,4-d]pyrido[1,2-a]pyrimidin-4(1H)-one (PP562). PP562 was screened against sixteen human cancer cell lines and exhibited excellent antiproliferative activity with IC values ranging from 0.016 to 5.

The chemical transformation of the tricyclic furo[2,3-d]pyrimidines was performed under isosteric and scaffold-hopping strategies focusing on the synthesis of its arylidene and imine-containing derivatives. Naturally-occurring alkaloids mackinazolinone and isaindigotone were as templates of target heterocycles. Synthesized compounds evaluated for their antitumor activity on human cancer cervical HeLa, breast MCF-7, and colon HT-29 cell lines.

The spectral-luminescent characteristics of newly synthesized styrylcyanine dyes on the base of dyes Sbo ((E)-2-(4-(dimethylamino)styryl)-3-methylbenzo[d]oxazol-3-ium iodide) and Sil ((E)-2-(4-(dimethylamino)styryl)-1,3,3-trimethyl-3H-indolium perchlorate) in aqueous solutions without and in the presence of bovine serum albumin (BSA) were studied. It was established that the absorption spectra of dyes Tol-6, Dbo-10 and Dil-10 with increasing amount of BSA appear new bands with λ(max)=505 nm, λ(max)=512 nm and λ(max)=566 nm, respectively, whose intensity increases in proportion to the amount of albumin. The intensity of the glow of the main band of fluorescence in the presence of BSA sharply increases.
