The study aimed to analyze the prevalence of tooth transposition in orthodontic patients and its relationship with factors like facial biotype, skeletal class, and sex.
Using a sample of 2,500 initial orthodontic records from 2014 to 2023, researchers excluded those with poor-quality records and employed statistical tests to evaluate their findings.
The study found that tooth transposition occurred in 0.28% of cases, with a notably higher prevalence in patients with skeletal class I malocclusion, but no significant differences related to sex or facial biotype.
