Background: Mucosal visualization during upper gastrointestinal (UGI) endoscopy can be impaired by the presence of foam, bubbles, and mucus. Some UGI endoscopy visibility scales have been proposed but have not undergone multicenter validation. This study aimed to develop and validate the Gastroscopy RAte of Cleanliness Evaluation (GRACE) scale.

One of the key strategies for the success of health organizations currently resides in the ability to develop advanced competencies in time management. Individuals who are able to spend their time efficiently are those who do not focus on a single issue within the allotted time but rather spread their time among several tasks. This study aims to investigate the attitudes, beliefs and knowledge towards the time management of nurses (clinicians, first-line and middle-level nurse managers) in their daily work.

Background: Chronic pain and inflammation are common features of rheumatic conditions such as Psoriatic Arthritis (PsA) and Axial Spondyloarthritis (axSpA), often needing prolonged medication treatment for effective management. Maintaining drug retention is essential for both achieving disease control and improving patients' quality of life. This study investigates the influence of pain catastrophizing, a psychological response to pain, on the drug retention rates of PsA and axSpA patients.

Two-photon lithography has revolutionized multi-photon 3D laser printing, enabling precise fabrication of micro- and nanoscale structures. Despite many advancements, challenges still persist, particularly in biofunctionalization of 3D microstructures. This study introduces a novel approach combining two-photon lithography with scanning probe lithography for post-functionalization of 3D microstructures overcoming limitations in achieving spatially controlled biomolecule distribution.

Background: Peripheral immune cells critically contribute to the clinical-pathological progression of neurodegenerative diseases and also represent a reliable frame for translational applications. However, data on progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP) are almost scarce in this regard.
Objective: Our goal is to provide a broad biological characterization of peripheral immune cells in a selected PSP cohort.

Purpose: To investigate the potential correlation between prolonged exposure to microgravity on the International Space Station and increased intracranial fluid pressure, which is considered a risk factor for the astronauts' vision, and to explore the feasibility of using distortion product otoacoustic emissions as a non-invasive in-flight monitor for intracranial pressure changes.
Methods: Distortion product otoacoustic emission phase measurements were taken from both ears of five astronauts pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight. These measurements served as indirect indicators of intracranial pressure changes, given their high sensitivity to middle ear transmission alterations.

To develop a core outcome set for Achilles tendinopathy (COS-AT) for use in clinical trials we performed a five-step process including (1) a systematic review of available outcome measurement instruments, (2) an online survey on truth and feasibility of the available measurement instruments, (3) an assessment of the methodological quality of the selected outcome measurement instruments, (4) an online survey on the outcome measurement instruments as COS and (5) a consensus in-person meeting. Both surveys were completed by healthcare professionals and patients. The Outcome Measures in Rheumatology guidelines with a 70% threshold for consensus were followed.

Background: A latent period of variable length elapses between multiple sclerosis (MS) biological onset and the occurrence of the first clinical episode reflecting a central nervous system (CNS) demyelinating event. Factors affecting the duration of such interval are unknown.
Objective: To explore whether brain reserve, which moderates the impact of structural damage along MS course, could also affect the timing of MS clinical onset.

Background: Supraventricular extra beats (SVEB) are frequently observed in athletes but data on significance, prognostic role and correlation with cardiac remodeling are contrasting. It is uncertain whether SVEB may indicate the development of more complex arrhythmias and the need for closer monitoring is undetermined. The aim was to assess the prevalence and clinical significance of BESV in Olympic athletes of different sporting disciplines, evaluating potential correlations with cardiac remodeling and clinical features.

α -1 antitrypsin (A1AT) is a 52 kDa acute-phase glycoprotein belonging to the serine protease inhibitor superfamily (SERPIN). It is primarily synthesized by hepatocytes and to a lesser extent by monocytes, macrophages, intestinal epithelial cells, and bronchial epithelial cells. A1AT is encoded by SERPINA1 locus, also known as PI locus, highly polymorphic with at least 100 allelic variants described and responsible for different A1AT serum levels and function.

Robotics and artificial intelligence have marked the beginning of a new era in the care and integration of people with disabilities, helping to promote their independence, autonomy and social participation. In this area, bioethical reflection assumes a key role at anthropological, ethical, legal and socio-political levels. However, there is currently a substantial diversity of opinions and ethical arguments, as well as a lack of consensus on the use of assistive robots, while the focus remains predominantly on the usability of products.
