Ferroptosis, as an iron-dependent cell death mediated by lipid peroxidation, has sparked great interest in the tumor research community. Targeting ferroptosis has been proven to be a new therapeutic opportunity for inhibiting tumor growth. However, it is challenging to precisely characterize the metabolic pattern of ferroptosis in heterogeneous tumors and further identify ferroptosis-associated metabolic vulnerabilities for tumor treatment.

The occurrence of multiple primary cancers in individual patients underscores the need for diagnostic and therapeutic techniques with augmented cancer-targeting selectivity and broad-spectrum antitumor effects. To address this, we develop a quadruple-input-triggered R-ND-ND logic gated oncological nanosystem (OAA). This system employs four cancer-related markers (EpCAM, MUC1, APE1, and miR-21) to generate three distinct fluorescence signals, enabling precise differentiation of various cancer cell lines (MCF-7, HepG2, and HeLa) from normal cells (MCF-10A).

The hot plate test is widely used to evaluate analgesic effects on inflammatory pain in mice. A commonly used model of inflammatory pain was induced with an intraplantar injection of carrageenan in one hind paw. However, the findings from our laboratory showed that mice with a single-hind-paw injection of carrageenan lifted their paws to avoid thermal nociception during the hot plate test.

Electronic address:

Advanced oxidation processes (AOPs) exhibit significant potential for water disinfection due to their generation of large quantities of highly oxidizing free radicals. However, the neglect of viable but nonculturable (VBNC) cells obscures their true disinfection efficacy and potential environmental health risks. Therefore, the study evaluated the disinfection effectiveness and mechanisms of typical AOPs, including Fe/HO, Fe/persulfate (PS), and O, from the perspective of the production of VBNC bacteria.

Key Laboratory of Catalytic Conversion and Clean Energy in Universities of Shandong Province, School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Qufu Normal University, Qufu, Shandong, P.R. China.

Aqueous zinc-ion batteries (AZIBs) have emerged as promising energy storage systems due to their inherent safety and high capacity, with manganese oxides attracting attention for their cost-effectiveness and environmental compatibility. However, the poor cycling stability of manganese-based oxides, primarily due to Jahn-Teller distortions caused by Mn, limits their practical applications. Herein, a high valence MnO (H-MnO) material was prepared a simple secondary hydrothermal method, yielding an increased average manganese valence from 3.

Molecular glue degraders (MGDs) are proximity-inducing agents that mediate the cooperative interaction between a target protein and an E3 ligase, introducing an additional layer of specificity beyond that afforded by traditional small molecules. Historically, molecular glues that stabilize protein-protein interactions were often discovered serendipitously. In this study, we leveraged the reprogramming potential of cereblon (CRBN)-based ligands and conducted a CRBN-dependent proliferation screen to identify CRBN-based MGDs capable of inducing the degradation of proteins essential for cell viability.

α-Heteroatom-substituted amides are useful as both targets and intermediates but are challenging to synthesize via conventional enolate chemistry. Herein, we describe a general and unified umpolung procedure to prepare α-heteroatom-functionalized secondary amides with various heteroatom-based nucleophiles under redox-neutral conditions. This transformation is a formal oxidation state reshuffle process from -N to -C in the hydroxamate, thereby achieving the umpolung α-heterofunctionalization of carbonyl groups without external oxidants.
