This research aims to examine the effects of the Islamic social finance (zakat), the Islamic Human Development Index (IHDI), and the quality of governance on poverty alleviation in 39 Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member countries from 2007 to 2020. This study uses a fixed effect model to analyze the relationship between variables. The findings show that the Islamic human development index, as a proxy for the quality of human resources, supports the reduction of poverty in OIC countries.

Monte Carlo N-Particle (MCNP) simulation has been extensively proven in nuclear medicine imaging systems, most notably in designing and optimizing new medical imaging tools. It enables more complicated geometries and the simulation of particles passing through and interacting with materials. However, a relatively long simulation time is a drawback of Monte Carlo simulation, mainly when complex geometry exists.

May 2021

Program Studi D4 Akuntansi Manajemen Pemerintahan. Politeknik Negeri Bandung, Bandung, Indonesia.

Flypaper Effect is a public finance term that indicates a government grant given to recipient cities increases the local community spending level more than an increase in local income of equivalent size. This paper analyzed the Flypaper Effect Assessment Method in the Expansion of Regional Autonomy. It employed 210 New Autonomous Regions (NARs) in Indonesia during 1999-2021 as a case study, where Indonesia became the country with the highest number of new autonomies in the world.

The present study was conducted to determine quantitatively the correlation between injected radiotracer and signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) based on differences in physiques and stages of cancer. Eight different activities were evaluated with modelled National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) PET's phantom with nine different tumour-to-background ratio (TBR). The findings suggest that the optimal value of dosage is required for all categories of patients in the early stages of cancer diagnosis.

Amphetamine-type stimulants (ATS) drug analysis and identification are challenging and critical nowadays with the emergence production of new synthetic ATS drugs with sophisticated design compounds. In the present study, we proposed a one-dimensional convolutional neural network (1DCNN) model to perform ATS drug classification as an alternative method. We investigate as well as explore the classification behavior of 1DCNN with the utilization of the existing novel 3D molecular descriptors as ATS drugs representation to become the model input.

Skin cancer is one of the most widespread and fast growing of all kinds of cancer since it affects the human body easily due to exposure to the Sun's rays. Microwave imaging has shown better outcomes with higher resolution, faster processing time, mobility, and less cutter and artifact effects. A miniaturized elliptical ultra-wideband (UWB) antenna and its semi-spherical array arrangement were used for signal transmission and reception from the defected locations in the breast skin.

Various aspects of task execution load balancing of Internet of Things (IoTs) networks can be optimised using intelligent algorithms provided by software-defined networking (SDN). These load balancing aspects include makespan, energy consumption, and execution cost. While past studies have evaluated load balancing from one or two aspects, none has explored the possibility of simultaneously optimising all aspects, namely, reliability, energy, cost, and execution time.

The optimization of torque ripple reduction by using DTC-multilevel inverter.

ISA Trans

February 2022

Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM), Malaysia; Electrical Machine Design, Power Electronics and Drives Research Group, CeRIA, UTeM, Malaysia.

Direct Torque Control (DTC) scheme introduces a robust and simple control of electrical drive. However, its shortcomings such as broad torque ripple and variable switching frequency have offered several improvements like Space Vector Modulation (SVM) strategy, multilevel inverter (MLI) topology, etc. The conventional DTC which is fed by the two-level inverter has limited voltage vector, results in some difficulties to optimize the operation, especially at low operating speed.

Review of Recent Microwave Planar Resonator-Based Sensors: Techniques of Complex Permittivity Extraction, Applications, Open Challenges and Future Research Directions.

Sensors (Basel)

March 2021

Microwave Research Group, Centre for Telecommunication Research and Innovation (CeTRI), Faculty of Electronics and Computer Engineering, Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM), Durian Tunggal, Melaka 76100, Malaysia.

Recent developments in the field of microwave planar sensors have led to a renewed interest in industrial, chemical, biological and medical applications that are capable of performing real-time and non-invasive measurement of material properties. Among the plausible advantages of microwave planar sensors is that they have a compact size, a low cost and the ease of fabrication and integration compared to prevailing sensors. However, some of their main drawbacks can be considered that restrict their usage and limit the range of applications such as their sensitivity and selectivity.

Centre for Telecommunication Research & Innovation (CeTRI), Fakulti Kejuruteraan Elektronik dan Kejuruteraan Komputer (FKEKK), Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM), Melaka, Malaysia.

It is well proven that electrical energy can be harvested from the living plants which can be used as a potential renewable energy source for powering wireless devices in remote areas where replacing or recharging the battery is a difficult task. Therefore, harvesting electrical energy from living plants in remote areas such as in farms or forest areas can be an ideal source of energy as these areas are rich with living plants. The present paper proposes a design of a power management circuit that can harness, store and manage the electrical energy which is harvested from the leaves of Aloe Barbadensis Miller (Aloe Vera) plants to trigger a transmitter load to power a remote sensor.
