Recent fieldwork in Terengganu, Peninsular Malaysia, resulted in the collection of an endemic new species of , described here as Julius, Siti-Munirah & Utteridge. The species is a member of subgenus (§) on account of its vascularised glands (bacterial nodules) on the leaf margin and the terminal inflorescence on a specialised lateral branch subtended by a normal leaf (rather than a reduced bract-like leaf). is unique amongst all members of § by having leaf margins with both vascularised glands and pustule-like structures and can be further distinguished from other Peninsular Malaysian members of this subgenus by the lamina raised between the leaf venation giving a somewhat bullate appearance, unbranched inflorescences, brownish-red pedicels and recurved corolla lobes, each with a creamy-white apex and a small pink patch at the base.

Pulmonary extra-nodal marginal zone B-cell lymphoma, also known as extra-nodal mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT) lymphoma, is rare among all non-Hodgkin lymphomas and generally among all pulmonary malignancies. We present a 46-year-old lady with persistent right lower lung consolidation despite earlier treatment efforts with intravenous antibiotics for community acquired pneumonia. Apart from initial presentation with a short 3-day history of fever, cough and shortness of breath, she had remained largely asymptomatic throughout the follow-up period.

Asian weaver ants () are an important biocontrol agent in agricultural habitats. We conducted surveys in oil palm plantations in Riau, Indonesia for an obligate myrmecophilous butterfly larvae, (Lepidoptera, Lycaenidae), that is known to consume weaver ant larvae in other habitat types. We found larvae in five of the twenty nests surveyed, with larval presence not being related to weaver ant nest size.

The study of prey-predator interactions between land snails and birds offers important insights into evolutionary and ecological relationships. Here, we report a case study of rock anvils presumably used by the birds and in a cave cavity of a limestone hill in Malaysia. We did not detect any other species in the plots and, therefore, based on our short study duration, we cannot rule out the possibility that other species, such as mammals, preyed on the snails.

This study presents a list of land snails and slugs found on limestone hills in the District of Bau, the state of Sarawak in Malaysian Borneo. Systematic and random sampling for land snails was conducted at eight limestone outcrops, namely, Gunung Stulang, Padang Pan, Gunung Kapor, Gunung Lobang Angin, Gunung Doya, Gunung Batu, Bukit Sekunyit and Gunung Sebayat. A total of 122 land snail species was documented with photographs of each species.
