Purpose: The prevalence of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) in cancer patients is high. During the medication review process, clinical pharmacists could detect and manage drug-related problems (DRP) to optimize pharmacotherapy but there is a need to standardize pharmacists' interventions (PI) especially for T2DM-related DRP. The present study aims to describe DRP in cancer patients with T2DM undergoing anticancer treatment (AT) and to propose related preliminary guidelines to manage T2DM-related DRP.

are vectors that can transmit many different pathogens to mammals - including humans, and domestic and wild animals - and birds. In order to take preventive measures against any vector-borne disease, it is important to gather information on both the host and vector species. species are mainly mammalophilic, ornithophilic or ornithophilic/mammalophilic, but females have also been found to occasionally feed on engorged insects.

The lack of effective antibiotics for drug-resistant infections has led the World Health Organization to declare antibiotic resistance a global priority. Most bacterial infections are caused by microbes growing in structured communities called biofilms. Bacteria growing in biofilms are less susceptible to antibiotics than their planktonic counterparts.

Background: Phlebotomine sand flies (Diptera: Psychodidae) are important vectors of various pathogens, mainly Leishmania parasites. In the Old World, the most important genus in term of pathogens transmission is the genus Phlebotomus, which includes many proven or suspected vectors of several Leishmania species, while the genus Sergentomyia remains so far unproven as a vector of human pathogens. Algeria is one of the most affected countries by human leishmaniasis.

We have investigated the impact of gemcitabine (Gem) and deuterated gemcitabine-squalene (GemSQ-d6) nanoparticles (NPs) on MCF7 and MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cell lines by Raman spectroscopy. Quantification of LDL expression levels in both cell lines revealed a four-fold increase in MDA-MB-231 cells compared to MCF7 cells. In in vitro antitumor assessments, Gem displayed 13.

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a powerful tool for observing and assessing the properties of brain tissue and structures. In particular, in the context of neonatal care, MR images can be used to analyze neurodevelopmental problems that may arise in premature newborns. However, the intrinsic properties of newborn MR images, combined with the high variability of MR acquisition in a clinical setting, result in complex and heterogeneous images.

Mooren's ulcer is a painless and idiopathic ulcer of the peripheral cornea related to autoimmunity against a corneal stromal antigen, calgranulin C. Corneal involvement is isolated. There are no specific histopathological features to differentiate Mooren's ulcer from pseudo-Mooren's, the latter being part of a systemic disease.

Background: Any surgical procedure carries a risk for venous thromboembolism (VTE), albeit variable. Improvements in medical and surgical practices and the shortening of care pathways due to the development of day surgery and enhanced recovery after surgery, have reduced the perioperative risk for VTE.
Objective: A collaborative working group of experts in perioperative haemostasis updated in 2024 the recommendations for the Prevention of perioperative venous thromboembolism published in 2011.

A series of xylose-based ligands was obtained using a convenient approach, in a few steps from D-xylose. The complexation properties of these ligands towards Au cations have been studied through different methods (multinuclear NMR, mass spectrometry, elemental analysis). The biological properties (antibacterial and anti-tumoral) of all the isolated xyloside Au(III) complexes were investigated in vitro.

Purpose: This review systematically investigates the role of radiomics in radiotherapy, with a particular emphasis on the use of quantitative imaging biomarkers for predicting clinical outcomes, assessing toxicity, and optimizing treatment planning. While the review encompasses various applications of radiomics in radiotherapy, it particularly highlights its potential for guiding reirradiation of recurrent cancers.
Methods: A systematic review was conducted based on a Medline search with the search engine PubMed using the keywords "radiomics or radiomic" and "radiotherapy or reirradiation".

A series of (R)-Carvone-based 1,2,3-triazole-thiazolidinone hybrids were synthesized and characterized by spectroscopic techniques NMR and HRMS. The chemical reactivity and the stability parameters were observed via DFT. The objective was to evaluate the anticancer activity of the synthesized compounds against cancer cell lines.

Molecular dynamics (MD) simulations are important tools for studying the dynamic motions of macromolecules at the atomic level. With the increasing capabilities of high performance computing, MD simulations are becoming more widely used. This allows molecular modelers to simulate the molecular behavior of large molecular architectures for much longer trajectories.

Understanding lignocellulosic biomass resistance to enzymatic deconstruction is crucial for its sustainable conversion into bioproducts. Despite scientific advances, quantitative morphological analysis of plant deconstruction at cell and tissue scales remains under-explored. In this study, an original pipeline is devised, involving four-dimensional (space + time) fluorescence confocal imaging, and a novel computational tool, to track and quantify deconstruction at cell and tissue scales.

This randomized controlled trial investigated the impact of a brief session of group-based running on feelings of energy and fatigue, comparing exercise in a local nature reserve versus an outdoor built environment, and a sedentary control condition. Sixty-six physically active university students participated, with 56 providing full data for each time point. Consistent with previous research, participants in both exercise groups reported significantly increased energy and decreased fatigue compared to those in the sedentary control group.

The prejudices often associated with the perception of people with disability can limit their access to the opportunities and resources available in society, leading them to live in a climate of great socio-economic uncertainty exacerbated since the COVID-19 pandemic. This research focuses on the perceptions of young people in France, defined as those aged between 18 and 30, towards people with disability. The study draws on the principles of social psychology to understand these perceptions, the factors that influence them and the most effective ways of promoting greater inclusion.
