Rationale: Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF) is a lethal disease with limited therapeutic options. FGF21, an endocrine fibroblast growth factor that acts through the FGFR1/KLB pathway, mitigates liver fibrosis.
Objectives: We hypothesized that FGF21 could exert anti-fibrotic properties in the lung.

Objective: To investigate whether bone marrow edema (BME) fulfilling the ASAS definition of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) sacroiliitis is associated with non-inflammatory spine abnormalities in patients with definite mechanical chronic back pain (CBP).
Methods: Patients with definite mechanical CBP, according to the physician, started before the age of 45 and be lasting for more than 3months but less than 3years underwent a protocolized MRI and radiographs of sacroiliac joint (SIJ) and spine. BME and structural changes were scored, by three readers, for SIJ as well as non-inflammatory abnormalities for spine, including degenerative lesions and static disorders.

Objectives: Patient care can vary substantially by country. The objective was to explore differences in psoriatic arthritis (PsA) across countries for disease activity, impact and treatments.
Methods: A cross-sectional analysis of 13 countries from the Remission/Flare in PsA study (NCT03119805) of consecutive adult patients with definite PsA was performed.

Objectives: To evaluate 6-month effectiveness of ustekinumab versus tumour necrosis factor inhibitor (TNFi), analysing predictors of low disease activity (LDA)/remission.
Methods: PsABio is a prospective, observational cohort study of patients with psoriatic arthritis (PsA) at 92 sites in eight European countries, who received first-line to third-line ustekinumab or a TNFi. Comparative achievement at 6 months of clinical Disease Activity Index for Psoriatic Arthritis (cDAPSA) LDA/remission, and minimal disease activity (MDA)/very LDA using propensity score (PS)-adjusted multivariate logistic regression was assessed.

Objective: Making a differential diagnosis of psoriatic arthritis (PsA) is not straightforward. This is partly because of its heterogeneous presentation and partly because many patients with PsA are initially diagnosed with psoriasis and treated in primary care or by dermatologists, with referral to rheumatologists being delayed. Once diagnosed, optimal disease control requires frequent specialist monitoring, adjustment or switching of therapies, and management of comorbidities and concomitant diseases, as well as attention to patients' overall well-being.

Background: Many breast cancer (BC) survivors are employed at diagnosis and are expected to return to work after treatment. Among them, around 50% are overweight or obese. There are limited data about the impact of body weight on their ability to return to work.

Purpose: Nonadherence to long-term treatments is often under-recognized by physicians and there is no gold standard for its assessment. In breast cancer, nonadherence to tamoxifen therapy after surgery constitutes a major obstacle to optimal outcomes. We sought to evaluate the rate of biochemical nonadherence to adjuvant tamoxifen using serum assessment and to examine its effects on short-term, distant disease-free survival (DDFS).

Purpose: Although shoulder arthroplasty is relatively safe in general population, it remains unclear in transplant recipient. Aim of this study was to determine outcomes and morbidity after shoulder arthroplasty in lung transplant recipients.
Methods: A retrospective analysis was performed at our university hospital center from 2001 to 2015.

Objective: To determine the impact of achieving serum uric acid (sUA) of <0.36 mmol/L on overall and cardiovascular (CV) mortality in patients with gout.
Methods: Prospective cohort of patients with gout recruited from 1992 to 2017.

Aims: To systematically review the literature on the efficacy and tolerability of the major chronotherapeutic treatments of bipolar disorders (BD)-bright light therapy (LT), dark therapy (DT), treatments utilizing sleep deprivation (SD), melatonergic agonists (MA), interpersonal social rhythm therapy (IPSRT), and cognitive behavioral therapy adapted for BD (CBTI-BP)-and propose treatment recommendations based on a synthesis of the evidence.
Methods: PRISMA-based systematic review of the literature.
Results: The acute antidepressant (AD) efficacy of LT was supported by several open-label studies, three randomized controlled trials (RCTs), and one pseudorandomized controlled trial.

Objective: To evaluate the prevalence and performance as axial Spondyloarthritis (axSpA) diagnostic feature of radiographic and MRI lesions 'typical' of axSpA of the sacroiliac joint (SIJ) and spine in a mechanical chronic back pain (CBP) population and in an axSpA cohort.
Methods: Cross-sectional multicentre study. Patients: (1) recent onset axSpA (DESIR cohort) and (2) mechanical non-axSpA CBP matched for age and gender (ILOS study).

Objectives: To determine whether the impact of a thoracic CT scan on community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) diagnosis and patient management varies according to emergency physician's experience (≤10 vs >10 years).
Methods: Early thoracic CT Scan for Community-Acquired Pneumonia at the Emergency Department is an interventional study conducted from November 2011 to January 2013 in four French emergency departments, and included suspected patients with CAP. We analysed changes in emergency physician CAP diagnosis classification levels before and after CT scan; and their agreement with an adjudication committee.

Introduction: Surgical-site infection (SSI) is the second most frequent cause of healthcare-associated infection worldwide and is associated with increased morbidity, mortality and healthcare costs. Cardiac surgery is clean surgery with low incidence of SSI, ranging from 2% to 5%, but with potentially severe consequences.Perioperative skin antisepsis with an alcohol-based antiseptic solution is recommended to prevent SSI, but the superiority of chlorhexidine (CHG)-alcohol over povidone iodine (PVI)-alcohol, the two most common alcohol-based antiseptic solutions used worldwide, is controversial.

Although gout is the most common inflammatory arthritis, it is still frequently misdiagnosed. New data on imaging and clinical diagnosis have become available since the first EULAR recommendations for the diagnosis of gout in 2006. This prompted a systematic review and update of the 2006 recommendations.

Background: The objective was to compare different definitions of remission and low disease activity (LDA) in patients with psoriatic arthritis (PsA), based on both patients' and physicians' perspectives.
Methods: In ReFlap (Remission/Flare in PsA; NCT03119805), adults with physician-confirmed PsA and >2 years of disease duration in 14 countries were included. Remission was defined as very low disease activity (VLDA), Disease Activity index for PSoriatic Arthritis (DAPSA) ≤4, and physician-perceived and patient-perceived remission (specific question yes/no), and LDA as minimal disease activity (MDA), DAPSA <14, and physician-perceived and patient-perceived LDA.

Innate immune response components such as toll-like receptors (TLRs) and NLRP3-inflammasome act in concert to increase IL-1α/β secretion by synovial macrophages. Previous results suggest that IL-1α/β could be an important mediator involved in the pathogenesis of osteoarthritis (OA). The aim of our study was to evaluate the role of NLRP3, IL-1β, and IL-1α in the menisectomy (MNX) model of murine OA.
