Objectives: To evaluate the effectiveness of short message service (SMS) and/or email reminders in improving influenza vaccination coverage rates among rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients treated with anti-TNF therapies, and to identify factors associated with vaccination.
Methods: A nested randomized controlled trial in the ART e-cohort, an ongoing French nationwide multicentre prospective cohort of RA patients treated with anti-TNF therapy. Patients were 1:1 randomized, with stratification on age.

Dendrigrafts are multivalent macromolecules with less ordered topology and higher branching than dendrimers. Exhibiting a high density of terminal amines, poly-L-lysine dendrigrafts of the fifth generation (DGL G5) allow hydrogel formation with tailorable crosslinking density and surface modification. This work presents DGL G5 as multifunctional crosslinkers in biomimetic PEG hydrogels to favour the osteogenic differentiation of human mesenchymal stem cells (hMSCs).

Introduction: Analgesics are among the most widely used drugs worldwide. The French Addictovigilance Network (FAN) established the antalgiques stupéfiants et ordonnances sécurisées (ASOS [narcotic analgesics and secure prescriptions]) survey in order to assess the dissemination of tamper-resistant prescription forms for narcotic analgesic within the medical community, as well as the nature and evolution of the prescriptions. After outlining the missions of the FAN, this article will describe the population treated with narcotic analgesics in France, their therapeutic indications and how the data have evolved since 2007.

Background: Trastuzumab emtansine has been recently suspected to be associated with the development of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH).
Research Question: Is there an association between trastuzumab, trastuzumab emtansine, or trastuzumab deruxtecan and the development of PAH?.
Study Design And Methods: Characteristics of incident PAH cases treated with trastuzumab, trastuzumab emtansine, or trastuzumab deruxtecan were analyzed from the French PH Registry, the VIGIAPATH program, concurrently with a pharmacovigilance disproportionality analysis using the World Health Organization pharmacovigilance database using a broad definition of pulmonary hypertension (PH) and a narrow definition of PAH.

This article explores the role of population health intervention research (PHIR) in enhancing health promotion in France, stressing the importance of a more in-depth understanding and thorough analysis of healthcare interventions. Established in 2022, the So-RISP network aims to structure the PHIR field, consolidating expertise from renowned teams specializing in PHIR, primary cancer prevention, and addiction. In January 2023, So-RISP members convened a national workshop.

In this transdisciplinary study, we investigated, using genomic tools and physico-chemical parameters, the effect of Moringa oleifera seed (MOS) on the removal of microorganisms and pharmaceutic residues (antibiotics), and also the development of antibiotic-resistant genes (ARGs) in water samples from a domestic wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) prototype. Water samples were analyzed with and without the addition of powder of MOS. The results showed that MOS addition reduced the total bacterial load from 1.

Purpose: The pathogenesis of life-threatening coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pneumonia in ICU patients can involve pre-existing auto-antibodies (auto-Abs) neutralizing type I interferons (IFNs). The impact of these auto-Abs on SARS-CoV-2 clearance in the lower respiratory tract (LRT) is unclear.
Methods: We performed a retrospective study in 99 ICU patients with COVID-19 pneumonia between March and May 2020.

The extraction of polyphenols from myrtle (Myrtus communis L.) fruits using a conventional solid-liquid extraction was optimized using a single-factor experiment approach. The influence of several parameters such as type of solvent (50% acetone, 50% methanol, 50% ethanol, and water), solvent concentration (30-100%; v/v), solvent acidity (0-0,1 N), temperature (20°C-40°C) and time (30-360 min) on the yield extraction of total phenolic content (TPC), total flavonoid content (TFC), total proanthocyanidin content (TPAC), and on the antioxidant activity: DPPH-radical scavenging activity (DPPH-RSA), ABTS-radical scavenging activity (ABTS-RSA) and ferric reducing power (FRP) was studied.

Surgical repair or reconstruction of lateral ankle ligaments is indicated in patients with persistent ankle instability, with arthroscopic/endoscopic treatment becoming more frequent. Although presurgical imaging of the ankle is always standard procedure, more is needed to understand the evolution of the repaired ligament or the tendinous graft to help improve length of postoperative time and functional results. This review describes the normal ultrasound aspects and possible complications of repaired/reconstructed ankle ligaments after an all-inside endoscopic repair/reconstruction of the anterior talofibular ligament and the calcaneofibular ligament.

Iatrogenic nerve injuries are common and require an immediate accurate diagnosis to allow surgical treatment within a short window of opportunity. Targeted investigation using high-resolution ultrasound (US) allows an accurate diagnosis in the acute phase when electrophysiology has a limited role. By identifying the exact site of injury, mechanism, and type of nerve damage, US can help determine the prognosis of the lesion and the need for surgical management.

Nutrition is a complex and contested area in biomedicine, which requires diverse evidence sources. Nonhuman primate models are considered an important biomedical research tool because of their biological similarities to humans, but they are typically used with little explicit consideration of their ecology and evolution. Using the rhesus macaque (RM), we consider the potential of nutritional ecology for enriching the use of primates as models for human nutrition.

Background: Percutaneous cryoablation (PCA), having shown effectiveness in treating liver, lung, prostate, breast, and kidney tumors, is now gaining attention for the treatment of soft tissue tumors. PCA functions by freezing tissue, which induces ice crystal formation and cell death without damaging collagen structures. Technical considerations include the selection and handling of cryoprobes and cryogenic agents, procedural duration, and choice of image guidance for precision.

Background: Patients with ventricular tachycardia and ischemic cardiomyopathy are at high risk for adverse outcomes. Catheter ablation is commonly used when antiarrhythmic drugs do not suppress ventricular tachycardia. Whether catheter ablation is more effective than antiarrhythmic drugs as a first-line therapy in patients with ventricular tachycardia is uncertain.

According to current recommendations, older AML patients in first complete remission (CR) after induction chemotherapy should receive consolidation with intermediate-dose cytarabine (IDAC). However, no study has demonstrated the superiority of IDAC over other regimen. In this retrospective study, we compared the efficacy of mini-consolidations (idarubicin 8 mg/m day 1, cytarabine 50 mg/m/12 h, day 1-5) and IDAC.

Light transmission aggregometry (LTA) is a method used to investigate platelet functions in platelet-rich plasma (PRP), notably when screening for platelet disorders. Various national guidelines and recommendations help in setting up the LTA test in specialized laboratories. However, due to the nature of the sample matrix and its subsequent specificities, more accurate positions are needed to achieve LTA accreditation according to the standard NF EN ISO 15 189.

Parkinson's disease (PD) is primarily characterized by three histological hallmarks: dopaminergic neuronal degeneration, α-synuclein accumulation and iron deposition. Over the last years, neuroimaging, particularly magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has provided invaluable insights into the mechanisms underlying the disease. However, no imaging method has yet been able to translate α-synuclein protein accumulation and spreading.
