Introduction: Generic competencies are transferable skills, knowledge and attitudes essential for personal and professional development and not restricted to any particular field. Evidence shows the relevance of incorporating them into the dentistry curriculum. However, defining which competencies to prioritise is complex and requires input from the academic community.

Background: Multidisciplinary lifestyle interventions are being researched to treat fibromyalgia. However, the impact of nutrition as a key treatment component is little studied. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of the SYNCHRONIZE + lifestyle multidisciplinary intervention in improving adherence to the Mediterranean diet, nutrition quality and dietary intake pattern in persons with fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome.

The integration of genetics and genomics into nursing practice is essential for addressing genetic pathologies and providing personalized patient care. This study aims to analyze the nursing education curricula across Spanish universities to understand how genetic and genomic concepts are incorporated. Using the "Qué estudiar y dónde en la Universidad" (QEDU) database, an official source provided by the Spanish Ministry of Universities, a systematic review of 4720 teaching guides from 118 university centers was conducted.

Background/objectives: Clinical simulation is a pivotal educational strategy in nursing, facilitating the integration of theoretical knowledge with practical skills in a safe environment. While the benefits of simulation in enhancing technical and non-technical competencies are well-documented, the transition of nursing students to the role of instructors within these simulations remains underexplored, particularly in the Spanish context. This study aims to investigate how assuming the instructor role in clinical simulations impacts the professional development of fourth-year nursing students.

Diffusion coefficients often vary across regions, such as cellular membranes, and quantifying their variation can provide valuable insight into local membrane properties such as composition and stiffness. Toward quantifying diffusion coefficient spatial maps and uncertainties from particle tracks, we develop a Bayesian framework (DiffMAP-GP) by placing Gaussian Process (GP) priors on the family of candidate maps. For sake of computational efficiency, we leverage inducing point methods on GPs arising from the mathematical structure of the data giving rise to non-conjugate likelihood-prior pairs.

Objective: The aim of this systematic review is to determine which physical tests, particularly those assessing strength, walking abilities and balance stability, can provide the most pertinent information for a preliminary screening of cognitive status, facilitating further cognitive evaluation.
Methods: A systematic search was conducted using the PubMed and Web of Science databases. Studies that assessed both strength or balance stability and cognitive state in community-dwelling adults aged ≥60 years old were selected for inclusion.

In this Review, we examine the concurrent outbreaks of mpox in Africa, focusing on clade 1a, the newly emerged clade 1b, and clade 2b lineage A, and how they differ from the 2022 global outbreak caused by clade 2b lineage B.1. Historically, clades 1a and 2a have caused sporadic, small outbreaks in central and west Africa, respectively, primarily through zoonotic transmission.

There is broad consensus on the socioeconomic importance of beekeeping and the essential services it provides through pollination. However, beekeeping is being impacted by global environmental changes, and more specific insights are needed. Beekeeping is not a homogeneous activity; it is practiced in various ways and contexts.

Objective: The 2017 McDonald criteria continued the separation of diagnostic criteria for relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS) and primary progressive MS (PPMS) for historical, rather than biological, reasons. We aimed to explore the feasibility of a single, unified set of diagnostic criteria when applied to patients with suspected PPMS.
Methods: We retrospectively identified patients evaluated for suspected PPMS at 5 European centers.

Concerns about the emergence of benzimidazole resistance in soil-transmitted helminths (STH) infections, particularly against Trichuris trichiura, have arisen. Previous studies of veterinary nematodes have linked benzimidazole resistance to single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) at three specific codons in the beta-tubulin gene, but similar associations in STH have not been consistently observed. In this work, we screened the complete beta-tubulin gene previously linked to benzimidazole resistance in T.

Objective: To evaluate the "Transformem els patis" (Let's transform the schoolyards) program in Barcelona in terms of schoolyard use, social interaction, physical activity, and diverse forms of play with a gender perspective.
Method: A cross-sectional pilot evaluation study with mixed methodology involving eight primary schools (four in intervention group and four in control group). For the quantitative analysis, 16 systematic observations were performed in the schoolyards of both groups.

Background: Chronic painful temporomandibular disorders (TMD) are a functional pain syndrome that embodies a spectrum of clinical manifestations and expresses great complexity through the coexistence of multiple comorbidities.
Objective: Evaluate the prevalence of pain comorbidities, explore the correlation between comorbidities, kinesiophobia, catastrophizing, and pain disability at baseline, and determine variables of interest for prediction response to physiotherapy interventions at different follow-up times.
Methods: This is a secondary analysis of a previously conducted randomized controlled trial (RCT).

() is a Gram-positive bacterium that causes infections ranging from mild superficial cases to more severe, potentially fatal conditions. Many photosensitisers used in photodynamic therapy are more effective against superficial infections due to limitations in treating deeper tissue infections. Recently, attention to this bacterium has increased due to the emergence of multidrug-resistant strains, which complicate antibiotic treatment.

Background: This state-of-the-art (SOTA) review aimed to understand the historical, current and future of rural community palliative care services (PCS) with a primary focus in rural southern Minnesota communities and the United States.
Methods: This review followed the six step SOTA systematic review process described by Barry et al (2022) and examined articles from 2010-2023 regarding rural PCS.
Results: Historical and current research consistently supported the benefits of PCS and reported the top facilitators as a clear definition of palliative care and PCS.

The first international consensus guideline on physiological interpretation of cardiotocograph (CTG) produced by 44 CTG experts from 14 countries was published in 2018. This guideline ensured a paradigm shift from classifying CTG by arbitrarily grouping certain features of the fetal heart rate into different "categories", and then, randomly combining them to arrive at an overall classification of CTG traces into "Normal, Suspicious and Pathological" (or Category I, II and III) to a classification which is based on the understanding of fetal pathophysiology. The guideline recommended the recognition of different types of fetal hypoxia, and the determination of features of fetal compensatory responses as well as decompensation to ongoing hypoxic stress on the CTG trace.
