In recent years, the incorporation of new strategies to the therapeutic armamentarium has completely changed the outcomes of epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC). The identification of new predictive and prognostic biomarkers has also enabled the selection of those patients more likely to respond to targeted agents. Nevertheless, EOC is still a highly lethal disease and resistance to many of these new agents is common.

Mammal species globally exhibit distribution patterns conditioned by environmental conditions and human impact. The Mediterranean basin provides an ideal system to study these effects due to its diverse climate, and habitat conditions. In this work, we aim to assess the impact of landscape heterogeneity and anthropization degree on terrestrial mammal diversity in this region.

Background: Genetic disease has recently emerged as a cause of cardiac conduction disorders (CCDs), but the diagnostic yield of genetic testing and the contribution of the different genes to CCD is still unsettled.
Objectives: This study sought to determine the diagnostic yield of genetic testing in young adults with CCD of unknown etiology requiring pacemaker implantation. We also studied the prevalence of rare protein-altering variants across individual genes and functional gene groups.

Seminal plasma contains a heterogeneous population of extracellular vesicles (sEVs) that remains poorly characterized. This study aimed to characterize the lipidomic profile of two subsets of differently sized sEVs, small (S-) and large (L-), isolated from porcine seminal plasma by size-exclusion chromatography and characterized by an orthogonal approach. High-performance liquid chromatography-high-resolution mass spectrometry was used for lipidomic analysis.

Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) accounts for 15% of all breast cancers and is highly aggressive. Despite an initial positive response to chemotherapy, most patients experience rapid disease progression leading to relapse and metastasis. This is attributed to the presence of breast cancer stem cells (BCSCs) within the tumor, which are characterized by self-renewal, pluripotency, and resistance mechanisms.

: Intermittent Claudication symptomatic peripheral arterial disease (ICSPAD) is associated with reduced mobility, functional capacity, and quality of life. Physical exercise is an effective non-pharmacological intervention for the management of ICSPAD. Adherence to exercise programs is challenging, due to the nature of the disease and the complex comorbidities associated with it.

Hypersensitivity to beta-lactam (BL) antibiotics is one of the most frequent reported drug allergies. In our population, it is common to find labels of BL allergy in electronic medical records (EMRs) that have not been assessed. The objective of our study was to detect patients with beta-lactam allergy labels in their EMRs and to assess how many of them are false after a correct diagnostic evaluation.

However, incorporating CE strategies into the production process is not trivial because it can imply significant organizational transformation. To understand this transformation, this work analyses how the adoption of CE strategies impacts company performance and, consequently, the subsequent transformation of the company in adapting to this strategy.

Unlabelled: Quality control of programs for detection of significant prostate cancer (sPCa) could be defined by the correlation between observed and reference 95% confidence intervals (CIs) for Prostate Imaging-Reporting and Data System (PI-RADS) categories. We used the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) for the Barcelona magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) predictive model to screen the quality of ten participant centers in the sPCa opportunistic early detection program in Catalonia. We set an AUC of <0.

Involving children in research is not only advisable but mandatory from both a child rights and an academic perspective. Indeed, recent research has shown that children's participation enriches knowledge and contributes to an in-depth understanding of complex issues, even in sensitive questions such as gender-based violence, leading to improved policy and practice interventions. This article analyses the participation of children both as experts and informants in a research project aimed at creating an early detection model of gender violence applicable in schools.

Introduction: The use of emerging tobacco and nicotine products affects tobacco use behaviors among college students. Thus, we aimed to examine transitions in tobacco use patterns and identify their predictors among smokers in a cohort of nursing students in Catalonia (Spain).
Methods: We conducted a prospective longitudinal study of Catalan nursing students between 2015-2016 and 2018-2019.

The XVI Post-ECTRIMS meeting was held in Seville on 20 and 21 October 2023, where expert neurologists in multiple sclerosis (MS) summarised the main new developments presented at the ECTRIMS 2023 congress, which took place in Milan from 11 to 13 October. The aim of this article is to summarise the content presented at the Post-ECTRIMS Meeting, in an article in two parts. This second part covers the health of women and elderly MS patients, new trends in the treatment of cognitive impairment, focusing particularly on meditation, neuroeducation and cognitive rehabilitation, and introduces the concept of fatigability, which has been used to a limited extent in MS.

The objective of this study was to assess the perceived usefulness, actual use and limitations for the application of recovery strategies among water polo (WP) players and their coaches around the world. A total of 231 WP players and 76 coaches representing all continents, both genders and all levels of competition, completed a freely accessible online survey. This was divided into three sections: sociodemographic data (8 questions), importance of perceived usefulness of recovery strategies (3 questions), and actual use of recovery methods (6 questions).

The use of disease-modifying therapies (DMT) has led to a paradigm shift in the management of multiple sclerosis. A comprehensive narrative review was conducted through an extensive literature search including Medline and Google Scholar to elucidate the link between DMT and the propensity of cutaneous malignancies. Sphingosine-1-phosphate receptor modulators, such as fingolimod and siponimod are associated with a higher risk of basal cell carcinoma (BCC), but not squamous cell carcinoma, or melanoma.

Ir(III) and Ru(II) polypyridyl complexes are promising photosensitizers (PSs) for photodynamic therapy (PDT) due to their outstanding photophysical properties. Herein, one series of cyclometallated Ir(III) complexes and two series of Ru(II) polypyridyl derivatives bearing three different thiazolyl-β-carboline N^N' ligands have been synthesized, aiming to evaluate the impact of the different metal fragments ([Ir(C^N)] or [Ru(N^N)]) and N^N' ligands on the photophysical and biological properties. All the compounds exhibit remarkable photostability under blue-light irradiation and are emissive (605 < λ < 720 nm), with the Ru(II) derivatives displaying higher photoluminescence quantum yields and longer excited state lifetimes.

Purpose: To investigate the phenotype of sarcoidosis according to the time when a malignancy is diagnosed (preexisting to the diagnosis of sarcoidosis, concomitant, or sequential) and to identify prognostic factors associated with malignancies in a large cohort of patients with sarcoidosis.
Methods: We searched for malignancies in the SARCOGEAS cohort, a multicenter nationwide database of consecutive patients diagnosed with sarcoidosis according to the ATS/ESC/WASOG criteria. Solid malignancies were classified using the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems 10th Revision (ICD-10) nomenclature, and hematological malignancies using the 2016 WHO classification.

In hybrid automatic insulin delivery (HAID) systems, meal disturbance is compensated by feedforward control, which requires the announcement of the meal by the patient with type 1 diabetes (DM1) to achieve the desired glycemic control performance. The calculation of insulin bolus in the HAID system is based on the amount of carbohydrates (CHO) in the meal and patient-specific parameters, i.e.
