The data set comprises 780 comma-separated values (CSV) files, each corresponding to specific experimental conditions, including various structural states of the wind turbine's support structure. These states are systematically varied considering three main aspects: the amplitude of a white noise (WN) signal, the type of bolt damage, and the level at which damage has occurred.

Influence of seagrass meadow length on beach morphodynamics: An experimental study.

A novel flume experiment was conducted to compare the sheltering effect of surrogate seagrass meadows of two different lengths against a bare beach (benchmark). The analyses focused on assessing the impact of meadow cross-shore extent on wave height attenuation, behaviour of wave orbital velocity components, sediment transport, and shoreline erosion. Throughout the tests conducted in the large-scale CIEM wave flume at LIM/UPC Barcelona, meadow density and submergence ratio remained constant, while irregular waves were run over an initial 1:15 sand beach profile.

The inclusion of particles in a polymeric substrate to achieve certain properties is a well-known practice. At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, fears grew that making vaccination a political (instead of public health) issue may impact the efficacy of this life-saving intervention, spurring the spread of vaccine-hesitant content. In this study, we examine whether there is a relationship between the political interest of social media users and their exposure to vaccine-hesitant content on Twitter. We focus on 17 European countries using a multilingual, longitudinal dataset of tweets spanning the period before COVID, up to the vaccine roll-out.

Spaceflight is associated with substantial and variable musculoskeletal (MSK) adaptations. The effect of light or moderate alcohol intake on the outcome of patients with major depression taking antidepressants is a question that remains unanswered. The main objective of this study was to assess the association between light or moderate alcohol consumption and the acute response (efficacy and tolerability) to pharmacological treatment in unipolar major depression. Efficacy and tolerability analyses compared 8-week outcomes between three subgroups, abstainers, light drinkers and moderate drinkers, of patients with major depression using a prospective naturalistic single-blind design.

Purpose: Previous research has shown that accommodation deficits are common in individuals with Down syndrome (DS), but the origin and mechanisms behind these deficits are still unknown. Amino acids and sugars, along with the thermal processing, are considered the main parameters to control acrylamide formation in fried potatoes. To evaluate which of these parameters had the greatest influence, 10 synthetic potato-starch-based models formulated in different amino acid and/or sugar combinations and three potato cultivars were assigned. High-performance-liquid chromatography and gas chromatography flame-ionized-detectors were applied to quantify amino acids, sugars, and acrylamide.

Exact low-dimensional description for fast neural oscillations with low firing rates.

Recently, low-dimensional models of neuronal activity have been exactly derived for large networks of deterministic, quadratic integrate-and-fire (QIF) neurons. Such firing rate models (FRM) describe the emergence of fast collective oscillations (>30 Hz) via the frequency locking of a subset of neurons to the global oscillation frequency. However, the suitability of such models to describe realistic neuronal states is seriously challenged by the fact that during episodes of fast collective oscillations, neuronal discharges are often very irregular and have low firing rates compared to the global oscillation frequency.

The slow transition from an out-of-equilibrium glass towards a supercooled liquid is a complex relaxation phenomenon. In this Letter, we study the correlation between mechanical relaxation and equilibration kinetics in a Pd_{20}Pt_{20}Cu_{20}Ni_{20}P_{20} high-entropy metallic glass. The evolution of stress relaxation with aging time was obtained with an unprecedented detail, allowing us to pinpoint new interesting features.

The pulse arrival time (PAT) has been considered a surrogate measure for pulse wave velocity (PWV), although some studies have noted that this parameter is not accurate enough. Moreover, the inter-beat interval (IBI) time series obtained from successive pulse wave arrivals can be employed as a surrogate measure of the RR time series avoiding the use of electrocardiogram (ECG) signals. Pulse arrival detection is a procedure needed for both PAT and IBI measurements and depends on the proper fiducial points chosen.

Toxic microcystins (MCs) produced by cyanoprokaryotes -particularly by the cosmopolitan cyanobacterium - pose adverse effects on aquatic organisms and their ecosystem and may also cause serious impacts on human health. Recent developments in SbSe van der Waals material as an absorber candidate for thin film photovoltaic applications have demonstrated the importance of surface management for improving the conversion efficiency of this technology. SbSe thin films' versatility in delivering good efficiencies in both superstrate and substrate configurations, coupled with a compatibility with various low-temperature deposition techniques (below 500 °C and often below 350 °C), makes them highly attractive for advanced photovoltaic applications. This study presents a comparative analysis of the most effective chemical etchings developed for related thin film chalcogenide technologies to identify and understand the most appropriate surface chemical treatments for SbSe in substrate configuration, synthesized using a sequential process at very low temperatures (320 °C).

This paper presents a proposal for riparian area delineation relying on topographical, hydrological, vegetation, and soil data together with numerical modelling of the river hydrodynamics. The two-dimensional model Iber is used to simulate 2.5, 10, 50, and 100-years return period flood events, and new code is developed to simulate the main hydrological processes of the river-riparian system to generate riparian zone maps.
