Aims: European Systematic Coronary Risk Assessment 2 for Older Persons (SCORE2-OP) model has shown modest performance when externally validated in selected cohorts. We aim to investigate its predictive performance and clinical utility for 10-years cardiovascular (CV) risk in an unbiased and representative cohort of older people of a low CV risk country. Furthermore, we explore whether other clinical or echocardiographic features could improve its performance.

Unlabelled: Homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (HoFH) is a rare disease characterized by the presence of two pathogenic variants in the LDLR, APOB, PCSK9 or LDLRAP1 genes, which cause very high levels of LDL cholesterol and premature atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD).The objective of this study is to analyze the current situation regarding diagnosis, cardiovascular disease, lipid-lowering treatment and degree of control of lipids in patients with HoFH in the National Dyslipidemia Registry of the Spanish Atherosclerosis Society.
Methods: Subjects with HoFH, confirmed by the presence of two pathogenic variants in the genes mentioned above, included in the registry from 2013 to June 2023 with an updated review were analyzed.
Background: Lung ultrasound (LUS) has emerged as a useful tool in the acute phase of patients admitted for ST-segment-elevation myocardial infarction. However, its long-term significance remains uncertain, and risk scores do not include LUS findings as a predictor. This study aims to assess the 1-year prognostic value of LUS and its ability to enhance existing risk scores.

Introduction: Germline predisposition to myeloid neoplasms can be suspected in patients younger than 50 years or when harboring mutations with a variant allele frequency (VAF) higher than 30% for point mutations in specific genes. To investigate the VAF thresholds' accuracy we have explored the prevalence of germline variants below the 30% VAF threshold.
Methods: A total of 40 variants with VAF lower than 30% in bone marrow samples of myeloid neoplasm patients were selected and studied in CD3 cells.

Background: In deep burns, the gold standard of treatment is surgical debridement and coverage, but in hands, this may lead to poor aesthetic and functional results due to the complexity of this anatomical area. Enzymatic debridement (Nexobrid) allows for the preservation of the dermal remnant and reduces the number of skin grafts when compared with surgical excision. The study aimed to analyze the patients with intermediate second-degree or deeper burns in hands who required surgical treatment after Nexobrid and those who avoided it.

Objective: Different studies identify mental health literacy as a protective factor for developing a mental health problem. The aim of this paper was to determine the degree of mental health literacy of the adolescent population of Barcelona, and its relationship with socio-demographic and educational variables.
Methods: A cross-sectional study was carried out in Barcelona during the 2017-2018 academic year.
We analyzed the effect of respiratory swings on interpreting intravascular pulmonary vascular pressures (PVPs) in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and interstitial lung disease (ILD) candidates for lung transplantation (LTx) and the role of the alterations in pulmonary function tests on the dynamic respiratory variations. Twenty-eight consecutive patients were included. All patients underwent a complete hemodynamic study (right atrial, mean pulmonary arterial, and pulmonary arterial occlusion pressures [RAP, mPAP, and PAOP]-) and pulmonary function testing (force vital capacity [FVC], forced expiratory volume in the first second [FEV1], and residual volume [RV]).

Thromboembolic events are rare in PwH and most of them occur in the presence of exogenous risk factors. There is still scarce scientific evidence on the optimal antithrombotic treatment and management approach in this population.

Left main coronary artery disease (LMCAD) is associated with high morbidity and mortality due to the large myocardial mass at risk. Although medical treatment may be an option in selected low-risk patients, revascularisation is recommended to improve survival in the majority of patients presenting with a significant left main stenosis. In the past decade, multiple randomised clinical trials and meta-analyses have compared coronary artery bypass grafting surgery (CABG) versus percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), finding controversial results.

Objective: The PaRIS Survey is an initiative led by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development in twenty-one countries, including Spain, to promote people-centred health care. The objective of the study aimed to describe PROMS and PREMS (Patient Reported Outcomes and Experience Measures, respectively) from patients who were in contact with Primary Care Centres, in order to establish a set of reliable, valid and internationally comparable indicators.
Methods: A cross-sectional study with two questionnaires will be carried out: one applied online for professionals from Primary Care Centres and another by telephone or online for patients aged forty-five and older of the same Health Care Centres.
Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) often co-occurs with other psychiatric and physical diseases. However, available evidence on associations between ADHD and cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) is mixed. To systematically review, quantitatively synthesize, and appraise available evidence on the link between ADHD with CVDs, we searched relevant articles in PubMed, Embase, PsycINFO, and Web of Science from inception to May 1, 2022.
