January 2025

Research Group of Physics and Technology of Advanced Materials, Department of Physics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Institut Teknologi Bandung, Jalan Ganesa No. 10, Bandung, Jawa Barat 40132, Indonesia; Department of Physics, Faculty of Science, Institut Teknologi Sumatera, Jalan Terusan Ryacudu, Lampung Selatan, Lampung 35365, Indonesia. Electronic address:

Microplastic pollution has surfaced as a critical environmental concern, affecting ecosystems and human health globally. This study explored the application of several machine learning models, including the Tree algorithm, k-Nearest Neighbors (kNN), Random Forest (RF), Linear Regression (LR), Support Vector Machine (SVM), and Neural Networks (NN), to predict microplastic concentrations in the rivers of Indonesia's 24 provinces. By utilizing both environmental and anthropogenic data, the Tree algorithm exhibited the best performance, achieving a coefficient of determination (R) of 0.

The hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) is a pivotal electrochemical process in water electrolysis, essential for hydrogen production. The efficiency and kinetics of HER are significantly influenced by the choice of catalyst and its support material. In this study, we investigated the effect of carbon supports on palladium (Pd) nanoparticle electrocatalysts synthesized the solution plasma sputtering process for HER.

Article Synopsis
  • Researchers studied strokes from 1990 to 2021 to understand how many people get them and how they are affected around the world.
  • In 2021, strokes caused about 7.3 million deaths and were a major cause of health problems, especially in specific regions like Southeast Asia and Oceania.
  • There are differences in stroke risks based on where people live and their age, and some areas actually saw more strokes happening since 2015.

Hypoxia-induced heterogeneity in colorectal cancer (CRC) significantly impacts patient survival by promoting chemoresistance. These conditions alter the regulation of miRNAs, key regulators of crucial processes like proliferation, apoptosis, and invasion, leading to tumor progression. Despite their promising potential as diagnostic and therapeutic targets, the underlying mechanisms by which miRNAs influence hypoxia-mediated tumorigenesis remain largely unexplored.

We examined whether people with high BMI sampled from two different countries were more susceptible to behavioural change via an implicit, rather than explicit, intervention. We measured BMI and used three types of cue interventions (implicit vs explicit healthy lifestyle cue vs neutral cue) to examine their impact on our participants' food choice using the Fake Food Buffet. Healthiness of the meal chosen was measured by the percentage of healthy food items in the meal.

Coprecipitation and hydrothermal synthesis of CaO from dolomite in the presence of extract for biodiesel production: catalysts characterization and optimization.

RSC Adv

July 2024

Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science and Data Analytics, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember Keputih, Sukolilo Surabaya 60111 Indonesia

High-purity CaO cubic crystallites extracted from limestone exhibited excellent activity as base catalysts for waste cooking oil (WCO) conversion into biodiesel. Saponin from extract acted as a surfactant in CaO extraction and transformation into well-defined cubic microcrystallites. The application of saponin from extract as a surfactant for CaO production results in a high level of CaO purity and particle size reduction compared to directly calcined limestone (CaO-MgO).

Background And Purpose: Highly metastatic breast cancer is a population of cancer cells that has metastasized to other organs in the body leading to apoptosis resistance. It was reported that MDAMB-231 cells contain lower levels of reactive oxygen species associated with metastatic capability. (CL) possesses cytotoxic effects in several cancer cells including metastatic breast cancer cells.

Dengue fever is a viral infectious disease transmitted through mosquito bites, and has symptoms ranging from mild flu-like symptoms to deadly complications. Dengue fever is one of the global burden diseases which annually have 50-100 million cases with 500,000 cases of severe dengue fever, of which 22,000 deaths occur mostly in children. Despite the discovery of vaccines, vector control is still the main approach for prevention efforts.
