Objective: Graves' disease (GD) is characterized by thyroid overactivity. Anti-thyroid drugs (ATDs), such as propylthiouracil (PTU) and methimazole (MMI), are commonly used for GD treatment, and studies have suggested a link between these drugs and elevated lipoprotein levels. However, data on their effects on lipoproteins, insulin resistance, or low-density lipoprotein receptor (LDL-R) levels are lacking, both in Indonesia and in other countries.

To date, therapeutic choices for alopecia have shown limited effectiveness and safety, making the discovery of new therapeutic choices challenging. Adipose-derived stem cells conditioned-medium (ADSC-CM) contain various growth factors released by ADSCs that may support hair regrowth. This literature review aims to discover the effect and clinical impact of ADSC-CM in the treatment of alopecia.

Introduction And Importance: Rectovaginal fistula is a complication that may occur due to rectal injury during vaginal reconstructive surgery. To prevent these complications, the recognition of the injury is an important factor so that primary repair can be done. The primary repair can reduce the risk of complications such as fistula formation, and also reduce the physical and psychological impact on the patient.

Introduction: Seborrheic keratoses (SK) are benign epidermal tumors with high sun exposure as a major risk factor. Vitamin D deficiency is also thought to play a role in its pathogenesis. There has been no data regarding SK, calcidiol level, vitamin D intake, and sun index (SI) among people living in coastal areas in Indonesia.

Ionizing radiation (IR)-induced double-strand breaks (DSBs) are primarily repaired by non-homologous end joining or homologous recombination (HR) in human cells. DSB repair requires adenosine-5'-triphosphate (ATP) for protein kinase activities in the multiple steps of DSB repair, such as DNA ligation, chromatin remodeling, and DNA damage signaling via protein kinase and ATPase activities. To investigate whether low ATP culture conditions affect the recruitment of repair proteins at DSB sites, IR-induced foci were examined in the presence of ATP synthesis inhibitors.

Tuberculum sellae meningioma (TSM) is a challenging tumor that grows close to several crucial structures, such as the optic nerve, arteries, and pituitary. Surgical treatment is currently evolving from a transcranial microsurgical resection to a transsphenoidal approach. This study examined the clinical profile of patients with tuberculum sellae meningioma and explored its relationship with scoring systems.

Introduction: Yolk sac tumor is the second most common germ cell ovarian carcinoma. Neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT) is proposed as an alternative option for patients with advanced disease who are not eligible for primary debulking. We presented a case with a systematic review of advanced yolk sac tumors of the ovary with poor performance who gain benefit from NACT.

Purpose: Understanding the immune response during radiation therapy (RT) in a clinical setting is imperative for maximizing the efficacy of combined RT and immunotherapy. Calreticulin, a major damage-associated molecular pattern that is exposed on the cell surface after RT, is presumed to be associated with the tumor-specific immune response. Here, we examined changes in calreticulin expression in clinical specimens obtained before and during RT and analyzed its relationship with the density of CD8 T cells in the same patient set.

Myocardial bridging occurs when a segment of major epicardial coronary artery courses intramurally through myocardium, commonly involving the left anterior descending. However, myocardial bridging involving coronary arteries other than left anterior descending is less-common and rarely reported, especially in the elderly population. We report a rare case of multiple myocardial bridging involving the left anterior descending, first obtuse marginal, and ramus intermedius in a 68-year-old Asian female.

Background: Recent studies have shown that human bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (hBM-MSCs) have several drawbacks in treating critical-sized bone defect (CSD). Secretome may offer considerable advantages over living cells in terms of potency, manufacturing and storing easiness, and potential as a ready-to-go osteoinductive agent. However, thus far, there are no studies regarding the efficacy of secretome in bone healing.

One of the main causes of death in COVID-19 is the dysregulation of the host's immune system which leads to cytokine storm, a potentially fatal systemic inflammatory syndrome. Interleukin 6 (IL-6) is a pro-inflammatory cytokine that is produced in response to infections and tissue injuries and is believed to play a pivotal role in the event of a cytokine storm, as signified by its increase in the process. Considering the role of IL-6 as a pro-inflammatory cytokine in the process of cytokine storm in COVID-19, perceiving IL-6 as a therapeutic target could prove to be promising.

In Asia, several challenges hinder the delivery of high-quality cancer treatment, especially radiation therapy (RT). Many Asian countries face large-scale shortage of RT centres and treatment machines. Additionally, there is also a significant technological gap, with many RT centres in Asia still using outdated technology.

Background: Fms-like tyrosine kinase-3, internal tandem duplication (FLT3-ITD) mutation, is a known predictor for worse outcome in patients with acute myeloblastic leukemia (AML). However, the prognostic significance of FLT3-ITD mutation in adult, non-transplant patients is still unclear therefore we conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis to explain this issue. The main outcome was overall survival (OS), while additional outcomes included event-free survival (EFS).

The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a highly transmissible acute respiratory disease that is caused by the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome CoronaVirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2), a beta coronavirus first discovered in Wuhan, China, in late 2019. COVID-19 has been spreading swiftly globally, and as of March 2020, has been officially declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO). One of the challenges in managing COVID-19 is the identification of a swift, accessible, and reliable diagnostic modality that could serve as an alternative to a reverse-transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR).

In late 2019, a mass of patients showing symptoms of a pneumonia-like disease of unknown origin emerged in Wuhan, China. Little did the world know it was the prelude of what would be a devastating pandemic. Samples were collected from these patients and the use of unbiased sequencing, and subsequent isolation of the pathogen using human airway epithelial cells led to the discovery of a novel coronavirus, named 2019-nCoV by the World Health Organization (WHO) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome CoronaVirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) by the International Committee on Taxonomy of Viruses.
