Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus (T1DM) is a chronic condition requiring lifelong management that affects a large number of children and adolescents globally. While diabetes care has improved over the years, low-middle income countries (LMIC) like Indonesia still struggle to achieve optimal diabetes care due to limited access to healthcare professionals, insulin, diabetes technologies, and self-monitoring blood glucose (SMBG) devices. Data from the Indonesian Pediatric Society registry has reflected a stark increase in the number of children with T1DM, with the current prevalence significantly concentrated on Java Island and a noticeable underreporting in rural regions.

Inflammation plays a critical role in myocardial infarction as a critical process in the development of heart failure, involving the development of cardiac fibrosis. Colchicine is a well-established anti-inflammatory drug, but its scientific application in controlling post-acute myocardial infarction (AMI) inflammatory processes has not been established. IL-10 is a key cytokine in modulating inflammatory responses, underscoring its potential as a crucial therapeutic target of colchicine.

Myocardial involvement among critically ill patients with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) often has worse outcomes. An imbalance in the oxygen supply causes the excessive release of pro-inflammatory cytokines, which results in increased ventilation requirements and the risk of death in COVID-19 patients. We evaluated the association between the hs-troponin I levels and global longitudinal strain (GLS) as evidence of myocardial involvement among critical COVID-19 patients.

Introduction And Importance: A high-angle thoracolumbar kyphotic deformity (TLKD) may complicate surgical rectification of AS patients since one-stage two-level pedicle subtraction osteotomy (PSO), which provides high-angular correction, leads to excessive blood loss, neurological deficits and fixation failures. This case series presents the long-term results of one-stage single level PSO with Ponte osteotomy (PO) in the treatment of AS patients with high-angle TLKD.
Case Presentation: This case series presents two AS patients with high kyphotic angles (KAs) of 86.

Some patients presenting with acute coronary syndrome may have had nonobstructive coronary arteries. Nevertheless, a lot of people are not aware that, as of the fourth universal definition of myocardial infarction, Takotsubo syndrome is no longer categorized as myocardial infarction with non-obstructive coronary arteies group. This can lead to diagnostic delays, the use of unnecessary examination, and harmful medical intervention.

Myocarditis is distinguished by a wide array of nonspecific symptoms, including chest pain, dyspnea, and palpitations. These symptoms are accompanied by electrocardiographic abnormalities that exhibit similarities to those observed in myocardial infarction. However, the results of coronary angiography frequently, though not consistently, show normal findings.

Background: Cytokines were beneficial for diagnosis and treatment, which in clinical situations introduced from the perspective of pro and anti-inflammatory effects. An inflammatory response is commonly associated with various severe traumatic insults that consequently recruit the immune cells into the target organs and causing systemic inflammatory response that can lead to sepsis. Immune-modulating nutrients, such as glutamine and arginine, are known as pathophysiological modulate in inflammation.

Background: Amniotic band syndrome (ABS) is a rare congenital disease characterized by a broad spectrum of congenital anomalies resulting from the strangulated developing organ(s) by the detached fibrous amniotic band. The prevalence of CNS involvement in ABS is rare, but the mortality rate in these cases is high, while morbidity among the surviving patients is inevitable.

The authors reported two patients with a history of asymptomatic mild mitral valve prolapse, a male in his late 40s (Case 1, vaccinated) and a female in her late 20s (Case 2, unvaccinated), who developed worsening (severe) mitral prolapse and New York Heart Association symptoms class III-IV after exposure to coronavirus disease 2019 with evidence of myocarditis on MRI. Both patients received similar 6-month of heart failure therapy; however, the outcomes did not affect the severity of their symptoms or mitral regurgitation. Subsequently, both patients underwent mitral valve surgery.

Background: Brachial Plexus Injury (BPI) is one of the peripheral nerve injuries which causes severe functional impairment and disability. Without prompt treatment, prolonged denervation will cause severe muscle atrophy. MyoD, which is expressed by satellite cells, is one of the parameters that relate to the regeneration process in post-injury muscle and it is presumed to determine the clinical outcome following neurotization procedure.

Tinnitus and vertigo are classic symptoms of inner ear disease. Dural arteriovenous fistulas (DAVF) are a rare type of acquired intracranial vascular malformation whose symptoms mimic inner ear disease, but what distinguishes it from other tinnitus is the characteristic of DAVF is pulsatile and heartbeat-synchronous. We present a 58-year-old male with chronic left-sided pulsatile tinnitus (PT) for 30 years and continuous vertigo for 3 years that took numerous consultations to establish a diagnosis after the onset of symptoms.
