Background: Although both hemodialysis and continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD) are covered by national healthcare insurance, 98% of kidney failure disease patients are treated with hemodialysis. This study compared the health-related quality of life (HRQoL) and utility scores of patients receiving hemodialysis and CAPD in Indonesia and determined factors associated with HRQoL and utility scores.
Methods: A cross-sectional study was performed using the Kidney Disease Quality of Life-36 and EQ-5D-5L instruments at six hospitals.

Unwanted pregnancies resulting in detrimental consequences for both the mother and the child, including low birth weight, pose a remarkable challenge in developing countries. Although the association between low birth weight (LBW) and unwanted pregnancy is widely demonstrated, the results have been inconsistent, and the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. We examined maternal antenatal care (ANC) completeness as a potential mediating factor of the association between unwanted pregnancy and LBW among women in Indonesia, as well as the moderating effect of family support during pregnancy.

Disruptor of telomeric silencing 1-like (DOT1L) is a key hub in histone lysine methyltransferase and an attractive therapeutic target for treating hematological malignancies including acute myeloid leukemia (AML). In this study, we report the design and synthesis of a new series of adenosine derivatives as DOT1L inhibitors by accommodating a basic linker piperidine-4-ylmethyl motif to respective aryl-urea/benzimidazole scaffolds. The anti-DOT1L enzyme activity analysis demonstrated that compounds 8, 12, and 13 strongly suppressed DOT1L activity with IC values ranging from 0.

Introduction: Muscle health in diabetes mellitus (DM) is often neglected, which leads to muscle wasting. Increased reactive oxygen species in DM could decrease antioxidant enzymes such as superoxide dismutase-1 (SOD-1) and -2 (SOD-2) and inhibit calcineurin (CN) and PGC-1α signalling pathways. Chlorogenic acid (CGA) is known as a potent antioxidant and activators of CN and PGC-1α.

Krom Luang Chumphon Khet Udomsak remedy (KKR) has traditionally been used as an alternative treatment, particularly for hyperglycemia; however, its therapeutic efficacy has not been scientifically validated. Thus, this study aims to investigate the potential inhibitory and antioxidant effects of -glucosidase enzyme and characterize the chemical profile of KKR extracts using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). The investigation highlights both KKR extracts as potent inhibitors of -glucosidase, with the ethanolic extract of KKR (KKRE) displaying an IC value of 46.
