Ameloblasts require specific proteins such as amelogenin, ameloblastin, enamelin, kallikrein, and collagen for enamel growth. Recent research has highlighted the importance of calcium and fluoride ions, as well as the TRPM7, STIM, and SOCE pathways, in regulating various stages of enamel formation.

India, Indonesia and Nigeria are high TB-burden countries where the majority of initial care-seeking happens in the private health sector. The objectives of this study were to (1) explore policy-makers' perspectives on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on private sector TB service delivery in India, Indonesia and Nigeria and (2) identify cross-cutting insights for pandemic preparedness with respect to TB service delivery.

This article reviews the role of membrane systems in treating palm oil mill effluent (POME), a waste generated by the palm industry. The review focuses on various membrane systems such as microfiltration (MF), ultrafiltration (UF), nanofiltration (NF), and reverse osmosis (RO), highlighting their effectiveness in removing pollutants and recovering water. Special attention is given to hybrid systems integrating membrane bioreactors (MBRs) and other advanced processes to enhance fouling control, improve water quality, and promote sustainability.

This research freshly investigates the effect of business competition on national welfare in Indonesia. This research uses business competition index data obtained from the Indonesia Competition Commission (KPPU) and welfare indicators data collected from the Indonesian Bureau of Central Statistics (BPS) at the economic sectoral and provincial levels for the period 2018-2020. The relationship between business competition and welfare is estimated using pooled regression model combining year, economic sector, and province.

Ultrasensitive non-enzymatic electrochemical detection of paraoxon-ethyl in fruit samples using 2D TiCT/MWCNT-OH.

This study reports on the development of a highly sensitive non-enzymatic electrochemical sensor based on a two-dimensional TiCT/MWCNT-OH nanocomposite for the detection of paraoxon-based pesticide. The synergistic effect between the TiCT nanosheet and the functionalized multi-walled carbon nanotubes enhanced the sensor's conductivity and catalytic activity. This study aimed to fill this gap by investigating how exposure to parental migration during childhood shapes later development in Indonesia and the Philippines, two major labor-sending countries in Southeast Asia.

Current treatments for hepatitis B virus (HBV), such as interferons and nucleic acid analogs, have limitations due to side effects like depression and the development of drug-resistant mutants, highlighting the need for new therapeutic approaches. In this study, we identified microRNA-3145 (miR-3145) as a host-derived miRNA with antiviral activity that is upregulated in primary hepatocytes during HBV infection. The expression of its precursor, pri-miR-3145, increased in response to the the virus infection, and miR-3145 downregulated the hepatitis B virus S (HBS) antigen and hepatitis B virus X (HBX), thereby inhibiting viral replication.

Effect of sulfinate salt on bonding and polymerization of adhesive to intracoronally bleached dentin.

To evaluate the effect of sulfinate salt on the bond performance of a two-step self-etch adhesive to an intracoronally bleached pulpal dentin surface. Intracoronally bleached bovine teeth were treated with or without sulfinate salt (sulfinate agent (SA): Clearfil DC activator) before 2-SEA (Clearfil SE Bond 2) application, while unbleached teeth served as the control (n = 5 teeth). Microtensile bond strength (µTBS) using the bonded surface area of 1 mm at the crosshead speed of 1 mm/min measurements after 24 h storage and thermocycles (TC), degree of conversion (DC) analyses by Raman spectroscopy (n = 3 teeth), ultrastructure of resin-dentin interface (n = 3 teeth), and intracoronally bleached pulp chamber dentin surface (n = 3 teeth) observations by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) were subsequently performed.

Science is integral to society because it can inform individual, government, corporate, and civil society decision-making on issues such as public health, new technologies or climate change. Yet, public distrust and populist sentiment challenge the relationship between science and society. To help researchers analyse the science-society nexus across different geographical and cultural contexts, we undertook a cross-sectional population survey resulting in a dataset of 71,922 participants in 68 countries.
