Purpose: Tumor genomic profiling and PD-L1 testing mean lung cancer management can be tackled through a personalized approach. Targeted therapies and immunotherapy are necessary to improve survival and preserve the patients' quality of life. Early access to innovation before marketing authorization (MA) is possible in France through clinical trials and an early-access program called a Temporary Authorization for Use (ATU), which is a unique regulatory system in Europe.

Background And Purpose: This study was undertaken to assess the most sensitive combination of tests to detect peripersonal unilateral neglect (UN) after stroke.
Methods: The present study is a secondary analysis of a previously reported multicentric study of 203 individuals with right hemisphere damage (RHD), mainly subacute stroke, 11 weeks postonset on average, and 307 healthy controls. A battery of seven tests, providing 19 age- and education-adjusted z-scores, were given: the bells test, line bisection, figure copying, clock drawing, overlapping figures test, and reading and writing.

Vaccination strategies aimed at maturing broadly neutralizing antibodies (bnAbs) from naïve precursors are hindered by unusual features that characterize these Abs, including insertions and deletions (indels). Longitudinal studies of natural HIV infection cases shed light on the complex processes underlying bnAb development and have suggested a role for superinfection as a potential enhancer of neutralization breadth. Here we describe the development of a potent bnAb lineage that was elicited by two founder viruses to inform vaccine design.

Prescribing errors related to computerized physician order entry are current and may have serious consequences for patients. They can be detected by pharmacists during prescriptions analysis and lead to pharmacist's interventions. In France, few monocentric studies have studied Pharmacist Interventions triggered by prescribing errors identified as System-Related Errors (PISREs) in French hospitals.

Many countries are facing an aging population. As people live longer, surgeons face the prospect of operating on increasingly older patients. Traditional teaching is that with older age, these patients face an increased risk of mortality and morbidity, even to a level deemed too prohibitive for surgery.

Introduction: Early exposure to a rich linguistic environment is essential as soon as the diagnosis of deafness is made. Cochlear implantation (CI) allows children to have access to speech perception in their early years. However, it provides only partial acoustic information, which can lead to difficulties in perceiving some phonetic contrasts.

Background: The identification of the first ventilatory threshold (VT1) on an incremental cardiopulmonary exercise test (CPET) is useful to guide exercise reconditioning. However, determination of the VT1 is sometimes difficult in patients with chronic respiratory disease. Our hypothesis was that it would be possible to identify a "clinical threshold" based on patients' perceptions at which they subjectively consider that they can perform endurance training during a rehabilitation programme.

Background: European national disparities in the integration of data linkage (ie, being able to match patient data between databases) into routine public health activities were recently highlighted. In France, the claims database covers almost the whole population from birth to death, offering a great research potential for data linkage. As the use of a common unique identifier to directly link personal data is often limited, linkage with a set of indirect key identifiers has been developed, which is associated with the linkage quality challenge to minimize errors in linked data.

We describe a small family outbreak of trichinellosis caused by the consumption of raw ham from a wild boar (Sus scrofa) hunted in the northern Alps of France in February 2022. Out of the six people, aged 3-69 years, who consumed the meat, three were confirmed cases, and three were suspected cases. Eosinophilia detected in four people was the hallmark that drove the diagnosis.

Objective: To evaluate safety of prenatal corticosteroids in pregnancies of women with sickle cell disease.
Methods: A multicenter observational study of patients with sickle cell disease, comparing vaso-occlusive crises (VOC) requiring hospital care between pregnancies with versus without prenatal corticosteroids.
Results: In 40 pregnancies exposed to prenatal corticosteroids, compared with 370 unexposed pregnancies, VOC were not more frequent (62.

Background: Lipin-1 deficiency is a life-threatening disease that causes severe rhabdomyolysis (RM) and chronic symptoms associated with oxidative stress. In the absence of treatment, Hydroxychloroquine sulfate (HCQ) was administered to patients off label use on a compassionate basis in order to improve their physical conditions.
Methods: Eleven patients with LPIN1 mutations were treated with HCQ.

Background: Timely access to the operating room for emergency general surgery (EGS) indications remains a challenge across the globe, largely driven by operating room availability and staffing constraints. The "timing in acute care surgery" (TACS) classification was previously published to introduce a new tool to triage the timely and appropriate access of EGS patients to the operating room. However, the clinical and operational effectiveness of the TACS classification has not been investigated in subsequent validation studies.

In the heart of the emergency room, when the nurse takes charge of the patient, he/she must be able to distinguish between an acute confusional syndrome and psychobehavioral symptoms related to neurocognitive disorders. Indeed, early identification of the confusional syndrome is essential to accelerate the implementation of non-drug measures by the nurse in order to reduce its duration and the induced complications.

In the hospital, the geriatric missions of nurses and paramedical and medical teams are essential in order to benefit elderly patients and to fight against the immobilization syndrome through responsiveness and quality care. This care takes place in parallel with the specific medical care of the medical pathologies treated. In 2017, the High Authority for Health advocated good professional practices to avoid iatrogenic dependence of hospitalized elderly people.

Background: Pectus arcuatum is often mistaken for a type of pectus carinatum. However, pectus arcuatum is a unique clinical form of pectus caused by premature obliteration of the sternal sutures (manubrial sternum, four sternebrae and xiphoïd process), whereas pectus carinatum is due to abnormal growth of the costal cartilage. In order to better describe pectus arcuatum, we analysed the files of patients with pectus arcuatum followed in our centers.

Background & Aims: Drug development in nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) is hampered by a high screening failure rate that reaches 60% to 80% in therapeutic trials, mainly because of the absence of fibrotic NASH on baseline liver histology. MACK-3, a blood test including 3 biomarkers (aspartate aminotransferase, homeostasis model assessment, and cytokeratin 18), recently was developed for the noninvasive diagnosis of fibrotic NASH. We aimed to validate the diagnostic accuracy of this noninvasive test in an international multicenter study.
