Crohn's disease (CD) is a chronic, complex inflammatory disorder of the gastrointestinal tract that presents significant therapeutic challenges. Despite the availability of a wide range of treatments, many patients experience primary non-response, secondary loss of response, or adverse events, limiting the overall effectiveness of current therapies. Clinical trials often report response rates below 60%, partly due to stringent inclusion criteria.

Background: There is wide convergence in the positions of scientific societies, patient associations and public bodies regarding the advisability of advance care planning (ACP) in cognitive disorders and dementia to respect the specificity of the person. Nevertheless, planning in advance for dementia represents a unique challenge. In Italy, law n.

Introduction: The anatomy of the tongue is three-dimensionally complex and is thought to play a central role in the local growth of oral tongue squamous cell carcinoma (OTSCC). Understanding patterns of tumor extension could improve a multimodal therapeutic approach. Thus, the main aim of this study was to provide a histological and microanatomical analysis of surgical specimens after compartmental surgery for OTSCC.

Ustekinumab (UST) is an interleukin-12/interleukin-23 receptor antagonist approved for the treatment of Crohn's disease (CD). Only limited real-life data on the long-term outcomes of CD patients treated with UST are available. This study assessed UST's long-term effectiveness and safety in a large population-based cohort of moderate to severe CD patients.

Collard green ( var. ) is widely cultivated for its adaptability and nutritional benefits. This study examines the nutritional composition and chlorophyll content of the "Couve-Manteiga" cultivar grown in Italy, emphasizing its potential application in convenience foods, such as fresh-cut, fifth-range, and freeze-dried products, to enhance chlorophyll intake in the population.

We study superfluid helium droplets multiply charged with Na+ or Ca+ ions. When stable, the charges are found to reside in equilibrium close to the droplet surface, thus representing a physical realization of Thomson's model. We find the minimum radius of the helium droplet that can host a given number of ions using a model whose physical ingredients are the solvation energy of the cations, calculated within the helium density functional theory approach, and their mutual Coulomb repulsion energy.

Introduction: Artificial Intelligences (AIs) are changing the way information is accessed and consumed globally. This study aims to evaluate the information quality provided by AIs ChatGPT4 and Claude2 concerning reconstructive surgery for head and neck cancer.
Methods: Thirty questions on reconstructive surgery for head and neck cancer were directed to both AIs and 16 head and neck surgeons assessed the responses using the QAMAI questionnaire.

In this Letter we report on effects of nucleon-nucleon correlations probed in nucleon transfer reactions with heavy ions. We measured with high efficiency and resolution a complete set of observables for neutron transfer channels in the ^{206}Pb+^{118}Sn system employing a large solid angle magnetic spectrometer, which allowed us to study a wide range of internuclear distances via a detailed excitation function. The coupled channel theory, based on an independent particle transfer mechanism, follows the experimental transfer probabilities for one- and two-neutron pick-up and stripping channels.

In this work, we present a multiscale real-time approach to study the plasmonic effects of a metal nanoparticle (NP) on the electronic circular-dichroism (ECD) spectrum of a chiral molecule interacting with it. The method is based on the time-evolution of the molecule's time-dependent wavefunction, expanded in the eigenstates of a perturbed Hamiltonian. A quantum description of the molecular system is coupled to a classical representation of the NP via a continuum model.

Lynch syndrome is rarely associated with rectal cancer (RC) and thus, metachronous RC has been scarcely investigated. This study aimed to analyze the mucosal immune microenvironment in sporadic and metachronous RC. We analyzed the mucosal immune microenvironment in the 25 metachronous RCs present in the IMMUNOREACT 1 and 2 multicentre observational studies (624 patients).

But although a wide variety of innovative biomarkers have and are being investigated, they are not largely employed to evaluate non-neoplastic lung diseases. The current work aims to examine the use of Krebs von den Lungen-6 (KL-6), a mucin-like glycoprotein predominantly expressed on the surface of type II alveolar epithelial cells (AEC2s), to evaluate the stage, response to treatment, and prognosis in patients with non-neoplastic lung disorders.

Introduction: Psoriasis in high-impact areas, including the scalp, nails, palms, and soles, can disproportionately impair patient quality of life. Here, we evaluate the 2-year efficacy of bimekizumab treatment in patients with moderate to severe plaque psoriasis in post hoc analyses of five phase 3/3b trials.
Methods: High-impact area efficacy data were pooled through 2 years across five phase 3/3b trials: BE VIVID, BE READY, BE SURE, their ongoing open-label extension (OLE) BE BRIGHT, and BE RADIANT (including its double-blinded treatment period and the first year of its OLE).
The first search for soft unclustered energy patterns (SUEPs) is performed using an integrated luminosity of 138 fb^{-1} of proton-proton collision data at sqrt[s]=13 TeV, collected in 2016-2018 by the CMS detector at the LHC. Such SUEPs are predicted by hidden valley models with a new, confining force with a large 't Hooft coupling. In events with boosted topologies, selected by high-threshold hadronic triggers, the multiplicity and sphericity of clustered tracks are used to reject the background from standard model quantum chromodynamics.

Background: Transanal excision of rectal cancer can be considered the definitive surgical treatment if the depth spread is T1 or lower, and the lesion is completely included within the resection margin. This study aims to analyze the immune microenvironment in healthy rectal mucosa as a possible predictor of tumor infiltration depth, lateral tumor spread, and recurrence of rectal cancer after transanal local excision.
Methods: This study is a subanalysis of data from the IMMUNOREACT 1 and 2 trials (NCT04915326 and NCT04917263, respectively) including all the patients who underwent transanal excision of rectal cancer.

This paper is a write-up of the ideas that were presented, developed and discussed at the fourth International Workshop on QCD Challenges from pp to AA, which took place in February 2023 in Padua, Italy. The goal of the workshop was to focus on some of the open questions in the field of high-energy heavy-ion physics and to stimulate the formulation of concrete suggestions for making progresses on both the experimental and theoretical sides. The paper gives a brief introduction to each topic and then summarizes the primary results.
