Allergic individuals at risk for hypersensitivity reactions to measles vaccine marketed for a long time are well established. On the other hand, risk factors for hypersensitivity reactions to the new mRNA COVID-19 vaccines currently include a history of allergy, allergy to excipient of the vaccine, or hypersensitivity reactions to the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine. In the last two cases, the recipient should be assessed by an allergist before vaccination to share a decision on the choice of vaccination.

Recognition and capture of amyloid beta (Aβ) is a challenging task for the early diagnosis of neurodegenerative disorders, such as Alzheimer's disease. Here, we report a novel KLVFF-modified nanomagnet based on magnetic nanoparticles (MNP) covered with a non-ionic amphiphilic β-cyclodextrin (SC16OH) and decorated with KLVFF oligopeptide for the self-recognition of the homologous amino-acids sequence of Aβ to collect Aβ (1-42) peptide from aqueous samples. MNP@SC16OH and MNP@SC16OH/Ada-Pep nanoassemblies were fully characterized by complementary techniques both as solid powders and in aqueous dispersions.

Telomerase, a reverse transcriptase enzyme involved in DNA synthesis, has a tangible role in tumor progression. Several studies have evidenced telomerase as a promising target for developing cancer therapeutics. The main reason is due to the overexpression of telomerase in cancer cells (85-90%) compared with normal cells where it is almost unexpressed.

The structure of a decanuclear photo- and redox-active dendrimer based on Ru(II) polypyridine subunits, suitable as a light-harvesting multicomponent species for artificial photosynthesis, has been investigated by means of computer modelling. The compound has the general formula [Ru{(μ-dpp)Ru[(μ-dpp)Ru(bpy) ] } ](PF ) (Ru10; bpy=2,2'-bipyridine; dpp=2,3-bis(2'-pyridyl)pyrazine). The stability of possible isomers of each monomer was investigated by performing classical molecular dynamics (MD) and quantum mechanics (QM) simulations on each monomer and comparing the results.

This Letter presents the first experimental evidence of the attractive strong interaction between a proton and a ϕ meson. The result is obtained from two-particle correlations of combined p-ϕ⊕ p[over ¯]-ϕ pairs measured in high-multiplicity pp collisions at sqrt[s]=13 TeV by the ALICE Collaboration. The spin-averaged scattering length and effective range of the p-ϕ interaction are extracted from the fully corrected correlation function employing the Lednický-Lyuboshits approach.

Introduction: Significant variations in the management of bronchiolitis are often recorded, and, in parallel, to recommend a univocal clinical approach is challenging and still questioned. This study is aimed to evaluate the diagnostic and therapeutic management of bronchiolitis in children adopted by Italian pediatricians following the national guidelines.
Material And Methods: A survey study was designed and carried out by sending an email an open-ended questionnaire developed by an expert panel of the Scientific Board of the Italian Society of Pediatric Allergology and Immunology (SIAIP).

Seasonal influenza A and B viruses represent a global concern. Antiviral drugs are crucial to treat severe influenza in high-risk patients and prevent virus spread in case of a pandemic. The emergence of viruses showing drug resistance, in particular for the recently licensed polymerase inhibitor baloxavir marboxil, drives the need for developing alternative antivirals.

Glucocorticoids are anti-inflammatory drugs used in combination with inhaled bronchodilators, such as β2-agonists and antimuscarinics, for the treatment of stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), to improve respiratory symptoms, such as exertional dyspnoea, and to decrease the risk of future COPD exacerbations. However, it remains controversial whether their regular long-term use increases the risk of developing diabetes mellitus. The objective of this narrative review is therefore to analyse all the randomized controlled trials performed in patients with stable COPD to identify the risk of new onset diabetes mellitus during a long-term (at least 52 weeks) regular treatment with inhaled glucocorticoids alone compared to placebo.
