How snow leopard gradually adapted to the extreme environments in Tibet remains unexplored due to the scanty fossil record in Tibet. Here, we recognize five valid outside-Tibet records of the snow leopard lineage. Our results suggest that the snow leopard dispersed out of the Tibetan Plateau multiple times during the Quaternary.

Immune cell engagers are molecular agents, usually antibody-based constructs, engineered to recruit immune cells against cancer cells and kill them. They are versatile and powerful tools for cancer immunotherapy. Despite the multiplication of engagers tested and accepted in the clinic, how molecular and cellular parameters influence their actions is poorly understood.

Designing well-defined magnetic nanomaterials is crucial for various applications, and it demands a comprehensive understanding of their magnetic properties at the microscopic level. In this study, we investigate the contributions to the total anisotropy of Mn/Co mixed spinel nanoparticles. By employing neutron measurements sensitive to the spatially resolved surface anisotropy with sub-Å space resolution, we reveal an additional contribution to the anisotropy constant arising from shape anisotropy and interparticle interactions.

Background: the long-COVID condition is gaining increasing relevance in terms of public health, but few studies have evaluated its impact on use of healthcare resources and the organizational responses of healthcare systems. Although many studies have evaluated case studies of individuals with long-COVID, the clinical spectrum of symptoms is still poorly defined due to the heterogeneity of the populations studied, the variability of the definitions used, and the absence of disease markers. In this context, in 2022, a project was designed and implemented in cooperation between the National Centre for Prevention and Control of the Italian Ministry of Health and the Italian National Health Institute (Istituto Superiore di Sanità, ISS).

Introduction: The recently published ACR/EULAR classification criteria score (3 points or more) both clinical and laboratory criteria to define the presence of antiphospholipid syndrome (APS). The clinical criteria have been better defined while laboratory criteria remain the same [lupus anticoagulant (LA), anticardiolipin (aCL) and anti ß2-Glycoprotein I (aß2GPI) antibodies] but with different impact (points) on the classification of patients. APS is excluded if more than 3 years separate positive test for antiphospholipid antibodies (aPL) and clinical manifestation.

The eastern Mediterranean shelf ecosystem has been profoundly disrupted by the influx of invasive alien species introduced through the Suez Canal. Yet, the role of retaining or shedding co-evolved parasitofauna in the success of the invading biota has been scarcely monitored, with the exception of the lesser swimming crab Charybdis (Archias) longicollis Leene, 1938 parasitized by the rhizocephalan Heterosaccus dollfusi Boschma, 1960. Host size, sex ratio, prevalence of ovigerous females, parasitization, and multiple parasitization, were studied over 30 years to determine long-term host-parasite variation.

We investigate the link between the internal microstructure of poly(-isopropylacrylamide)-poly(ethylene glycol) methyl ether methacrylate (PNIPAM-PEGMA) microgels, their bulk moduli and the rheological response and structural arrangement in dense suspensions. The low degree of crosslinking combined with the increased hydrophilicity induced by the presence of PEGMA results in a diffuse, star-like density profile of the particle and very low values of the bulk modulus in dilute conditions, as determined by small angle neutron scattering (SANS). The ultrasoft nature of the particle is reflected in the changes of the structural arrangement in dense suspensions, which evidence a strong deswelling and a sharp rise of the bulk modulus at moderate packing fractions.

In this study, for the first time, the volatile fraction from two domesticated accessions ("Paprika" and "Baklouti") collected in Tunisia was investigated by two complementary analytical techniques, such as Solid-Phase Microextraction-Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry (SPME-GC/MS) and Proton Transfer Reaction-Time-of-Flight-Mass Spectrometry (PTR-ToF-MS). The obtained results highlighted the presence of a high number of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), including monoterpene and sesquiterpene compounds with -curcumene, I-zingiberene, -bisabolene and -sesquiphellandrene as the major components. In addition, GC/MS was used to investigate the non-volatile chemical composition of the dried powders and their extracts, which were found to be rich in sulfur compounds, fatty acids and sugars.

The imidazo[1,5-a]quinoline scaffold of central benzodiazepine receptor (CBR) ligands was used as the pharmacophore in the design of bivalent ligands bearing spacers showing variable length and different physicochemical features. The newly designed compounds were synthesized along with the corresponding reference monovalent compounds bearing the corresponding spacers terminated with a tert-butoxycarbonyl group. The novel compounds were tested in binding assays with different CBR preparations such as the cerebral cortex from male CD-1 albino mice or the human recombinant α1β3γ2 and α2β3γ2 γ-aminobutyric acid type A receptors (GABARs) stably expressed in mouse L(tk-) cells.

Such SUEPs are predicted by hidden valley models with a new, confining force with a large 't Hooft coupling. In events with boosted topologies, selected by high-threshold hadronic triggers, the multiplicity and sphericity of clustered tracks are used to reject the background from standard model quantum chromodynamics.

The effects of frustration on extended supersolid states is a largely unexplored subject in the realm of cold-atom systems. In this work, we explore the impact of quasicrystalline lattices on the supersolid phases of dipolar bosons. Our findings reveal that weak quasicrystalline lattices can induce a variety of modulated phases, merging the inherent solid pattern with a quasiperiodic decoration induced by the external potential.
