Aims: To assess the association between right heart failure (RHF) and mortality in patients with severe tricuspid regurgitation (TR) undergoing transcatheter tricuspid valve intervention (TTVI), and to determine whether clinical RHF status reduces the survival benefit of successful versus failed TTVI.

Methods And Results: The TriValve International Registry (Transcatheter Tricuspid Valve Therapies) is a multicenter registry collecting data of patients with symptomatic, severe or greater TR undergoing TTVI. The population was stratified according to RHF status defined by the following clinical criteria: history of previous hospitalization for RHF (<1 year) OR presence of signs of RHF (jugular venous distension, ascites, peripheral oedema) OR high dose diuretic (≥125 mg/day of furosemide or equivalent).

This study aims to investigate the association between chronic lateral meniscus posterior root tears (LMPRTs) and chondral or osteochondral lesions of the lateral femoral condyle (LFC), particularly in cases involving prior anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries. Given the challenges in diagnosing LMPRTs and the biomechanical significance of the lateral meniscus, this research highlights the potential long-term impact of untreated root tears. A prospective analysis was conducted on seven patients with chronic LMPRTs and suspected LFC lesions, identified through clinical symptoms, history of ACL injuries and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) findings.

Single-cell sequencing provides rich information; however, its clinical use is limited due to high costs and complex data output. Here, we present a protocol for extracting single-cell-related information from bulk RNA-sequencing (RNA-seq) data using the pathway-level information extractor (PLIER) algorithm. We describe the steps for extracting single-cell signatures from literature, training a PLIER model based on single-cell signatures (named CLIER), and applying it to a new dataset.

The treatment landscape of prostate cancer is quite complex because of the many therapeutic options available in different disease settings (hormonal treatments, chemotherapy, poly(adenosine diphosphate ribose) polymerase inhibitors, radiopharmaceutical therapy). Since in most cases we do not have comparative studies between these different agents, the best therapeutic sequence in patients with prostate cancer remains unsolved. In this review, we describe the different systemic therapeutic options available in each disease setting from localized disease to metastatic castration-resistant disease.

In this article, we extend a recently introduced kinetic model for consensus-based segmentation of images. In particular, we will interpret the set of pixels of a 2D image as an interacting particle system that evolves in time in view of a consensus-type process obtained by interactions between pixels and external noise. Thanks to a kinetic formulation of the introduced model, we derive the large time solution of the model.

Circular RNAs (circRNAs) are regulatory RNAs that play a crucial role in various biological activities and have been identified as potential biomarkers for neurological disorders and cancer. CircRNAs have emerged as significant regulators of gene expression through different mechanisms, including regulation of transcription and splicing, modulation of translation, and post-translational modifications. Additionally, some circRNAs operate as microRNA (miRNA) sponges in the cytoplasm, boosting post-transcriptional expression of target genes by inhibiting miRNA activity.
