The Mediterranean Diet (MedDiet) is associated with beneficial effects against chronic non-communicable diseases (CNCDs). In particular, the content of micronutrients leads to an improvement of the oxidative and inflammatory profiles. A randomized, parallel, controlled study, on 24 subjects, was conducted to evaluate if 2-week supplementation with a mixed apple and bergamot juice (MAB juice), had a positive impact on the body composition, the biochemical profile, and oxidative and inflammatory gene expression (Superoxide dismutase (SOD1), Peroxisome Proliferator-Activated Receptor γ (PPARγ), catalase (CAT), chemokine C-C motif ligand 5 (CCL5), Nuclear Factor Kappa B Subunit 1 (NFKB1), Vitamin D Receptor (VDR), and Macrophage Migration Inhibitory Factor (MIF)), respect to a MedDiet.

Dialysis adequacy and a state of "eunutrition" are two essential elements to consider in the evaluation of patient undergoing dialysis treatment. Dialysis inadequacy is often associated with malnutrition, and the combination of these two factors significantly worsens the prognosis. In the following monocentric and prospective study, the correlation between nutritional markers and dialytic adequacy was tested in a cohort of patients permanently followed by the peritoneal dialysis clinic, followed consistently for two years.

Purpose: Benralizumab effectively reduces severe eosinophilic asthma (SEA) exacerbations in patients with a wide range of baseline blood eosinophil count (BEC). A large number of SARS-CoV-2 mutations in a short period of time has driven scientific research related to vaccines, new drugs, and antibodies to combat the new variants of the virus. Herein, we present a web portal containing the structural information, the tridimensional coordinates, and the molecular dynamics trajectories of the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein and its main variants. The digital healthcare workforce is usually composed of two major types of professionals: the healthcare workers, who are the users of eHealth, and the health informatics developers, who are usually computer scientists, biomedical engineers, or other technical experts. Health informatics educators have the responsibility to develop the appropriate skills for both, acting within their specific curricula. Here we present the experience of the Italian Society of Biomedical Informatics (SIBIM) and show that, whereas the technical curricula are widely covered with a large range of topics, the eHealth education in medical curricula is often limited to simple bioengineering and informatics skills, thus suggesting that eHealth associations and organizations at the national level should focus their efforts towards increasing the level of eHealth contents in medical schools.

Chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) is one of the most frequent comorbidities associated with asthma and it contributes to an amplified global disease burden in asthmatics. CRS prevalence is much higher in asthmatic patients compared to the general population and it is more frequently related to severe asthma, especially in presence of nasal polyps (chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps, CRSwNP).
