Objective: Vascular surgery registries report on procedures and outcomes to promote patient safety and drive quality improvement. International registries have contributed significantly to the VASCUNET collaborative abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) outcome projects. This scoping review aimed to outline the national registries in vascular surgery that currently participate in the VASCUNET collaborative AAA projects.

Therefore, a preventive vaccine against shigellosis is an urgent medical need. We have proposed Generalised Modules for Membrane Antigens (GMMA) as an innovative delivery system for O-antigen, and an Alhydrogel formulation (1790GAHB) has been extensively tested in preclinical and clinical studies.

A stimuli-sensitive linker is one of the indispensable components of prodrugs for cancer therapy as it covalently binds the drug and releases it upon external stimulation at the tumour site. Quinone methide elimination has been widely used as the key transformation to release drugs based on their nucleofugacity. The usual approach is to bind the drug to the linker as a carbamate and release it as a free amine after a self-immolative 1,6-elimination.

Gout and hyperuricemia are characterized by high uric acid levels, and their treatment involves medications that have adverse effects. In this study, we evaluated oral liposomal formulations with eremantholide C and goyazensolide as a novel approach to reduce the toxicity associated with these substances while maintaining their anti-hyperuricemic activity. We characterized the formulations and evaluated them based on encapsulation efficiency and stability over 12 months and under simulated physiological environments.

is a free-living, pseudoparasitic, necromenic, and parasitic nematode, depending on the host. This species feeds mainly on bacteria present in decaying organic matter, soil, and other substrates; however, in its parasitic form, it can colonize some species of snails. Moreover, the presence of has also been detected in birds and mammals, including humans.

Artificial intelligence techniques are now widely used in various agricultural applications, including the detection of devastating diseases such as late blight () and early blight () affecting potato ( L.) crops. In this paper, we present a mobile application for detecting potato crop diseases based on deep neural networks.

Introduction: To evaluate the adjunctive effect of glycine-powder air-polishing (GPAP) to full-mouth ultrasonic debridement (Fm-UD) in the treatment of peri-implant mucositis, and to determine the impact of implant and patient-level variables for disease resolution.
Methods: Individuals with a diagnosis of peri-implant mucositis were consecutively included in this randomized parallel arm clinical study. All the participants received a session of Fm-UD.

Cinnamic acid and its derivatives represent attractive building blocks for the development of pharmacological tools. A series of piperoniloyl and cinnamoyl-based amides (6-9 a-f) have been synthesized and assayed against a wide panel of colorectal cancer (CRC) cells, with the aim of finding promising anticancer agents. Among all twenty-four synthesized molecules, 7a, 7e-f, 9c, and 9f displayed the best antiproliferative activity.

Bacterial resistance is undoubtedly one of the main public health concerns especially with the emergence of metallo-β-lactamases (MBLs) able to hydrolytically inactivate β-lactam antibiotics. Currently, there are no inhibitors of MBLs in clinical use to rescue antibiotic action and the New Delhi metallo-β-lactamase-1 (NDM-1) is still considered as one of the most relevant targets for inhibitor development. Following a fragment-based strategy to find new NDM-1 inhibitors, we identified aurone as a promising scaffold.

Background: Periocular malignancies may be clinically different from the examples arising at other sites, with possible delayed diagnosis and greater challenges for treatment and repair. Line-field confocal optical coherence tomography (LC-OCT) is a recently developed technique characterized by an unprecedented capacity to acquire high-definition images in vertical and horizontal modes. In this study, we aimed to investigate the LC-OCT morphological features of a series of eyelid skin lesions, correlating them to histopathological findings.

New graft copolymers were prepared by reaction of poly (vinyl alcohol) (PVA) with mono-imidazolide or bis-imidazolide derivatives of ferulic acid (FA) with the formation of ester bonds. The obtained graft copolymers, thanks to the crosslinking capability of FA, formed in water strong gels as verified by rheological analyses. The resulting hydrogels were characterized to evaluate their applicability as wound dressing.

Background: The INBUILD study demonstrated the efficacy of nintedanib in the treatment of progressive fibrosing interstitial lung disease different to idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, including rheumatoid arthritis (RA)-related ILD. Nevertheless, the prevalence of RA-ILD patients that may potentially benefit from nintedanib remains unknown.
Objectives And Methods: The aim of the present multicentre study was to investigate the prevalence and possible associated factors of fibrosing progressive patterns in a cross-sectional cohort of RA-ILD patients.

Background: TROP-2 is emerging as a valid and fruitful strategy in triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) patients, and several agents are currently under evaluation, including Datopotamab deruxtecan (Dato-DXd).
Research Design And Methods: Herein, we performed a meta-analysis aimed to evaluate any grade adverse events, grade 3-4 adverse events, dose reduction, and serious adverse events in TNBC patients treated with Dato-DXd in clinical trials.
Results: The pooled results suggests that Dato-DXd is associated with a favorable safety profile: while any grade treatment-related toxicities were common, grade 3-4 events were not particularly frequent and mainly represented by stomatitis (13.

Automatic Rhodopsin Modeling (ARM) is a simulation protocol providing QM/MM models of rhodopsins capable of reproducing experimental electronic absorption and emission trends. Currently, ARM is restricted to a single protonation microstate for each rhodopsin model. Herein, we incorporate an extension of the minimal electrostatic model (MEM) into the ARM protocol to account for all relevant protonation microstates at a given pH.

Numerical simulations of seismic site response require the characterization of the nonlinear behaviour of shallow subsoil. When extensive evaluations are of concern, as in the case of seismic microzonation studies, funding problems prevent from the systematic use of laboratory tests to provide detailed evaluations. For this purpose, 485 shear modulus reduction, G\G(γ) and damping ratio, D(γ) curves were collected from multiple literature sources available in Italy.
