Prenatal diagnosis following preimplantation genetic testing (PGT): recommendations of the Italian Society of Human Genetics (SIGU).

This document aims to provide good practice recommendations in order to support maternal-foetal medicine specialists, clinical geneticists and clinical laboratory geneticists in the management of pregnancies obtained after the transfer of an embryo tested with preimplantation genetic testing (PGT). It was drafted by geneticists expert in preimplantation genetics and prenatal genetic diagnosis belonging to the "Working Group in Cytogenomics, Prenatal and Reproductive Genetics" of the "Italian Society of Human Genetics" (SIGU). In particular, the paper addresses the diagnostic algorithm to be applied in prenatal follow-up depending on the type of PGT performed, the results obtained and the related diagnostic value based on the most recent literature data and Italian and international recommendations.

In this manuscript the biomolecular mechanism of action of the natural colon cancer chemopreventive agent 4'-geranyloxyferulic acid in cultured Caco-2 cells has been investigated. It was first demonstrated how the application of this phytochemical led to a time- and dose-dependent decrease of cell viability and in parallel to a massive generation of reactive oxygen species and induction of caspases 3 and 9, finally providing apoptosis. This event is accompanied by deep modifications in key pro-apoptotic targets like CD95, DR4 and 5, cytochrome c, Apaf-1, Bcl-2, and Bax.

SURE 2.0 - New release of the worldwide database of surface ruptures for fault displacement hazard analyses.

Surface rupturing data from the historical earthquakes is used for obtaining empirical regression parameters for fault displacement hazard assessment. This paper represents an additional compilation and analysis effort, extending the first version of the SUrface Ruptures due to Earthquake (SURE) database. This new release contains slip measurements and mapped surface rupture traces of 50 surface rupturing earthquakes of reverse, normal, and strike-slip kinematics occurred all over the world between 1872 and 2019.

Comparison Between First Line Target Therapy and Immunotherapy in Different Prognostic Categories of BRAF Mutant Metastatic Melanoma Patients: An Italian Melanoma Intergroup Study.

Background: BRAF and MEK inhibitors target therapies (TT) and AntiPD1 immunotherapies (IT) are available first-line treatments for BRAF v600 mutant metastatic melanoma patients. ECOG PS (E), baseline LDH (L), and baseline number of metastatic sites (N) are well-known clinical prognostic markers that identify different prognostic categories of patients. Direct comparison between first-line TT and IT in different prognostic categories could help in first line treatment decision.
