Purpose: Craniopharyngiomas are histologically benign tumors, but their proximity to vital neurovascular structures can significantly deteriorate functional prognoses and severely restrict patients' social interaction and activity. We retrospectively identified risk factors related to the functional prognoses in patients with craniopharyngioma treated at our center.
Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on 40 patients who underwent surgery for craniopharyngioma and follow-up at our institution between 2003 and 2022.

Introduction: The relationship between facial asymmetry and cervical anomaly is rarely mentioned in the diagnosis of dento-maxillo-facial orthopaedics. It is regrettable that the study of the cervical spine is often ignored in the etio-pathogenesis of these dysmorphoses, particularly in cases of facial asymmetry.
Objective: The aim is twofold: to encourage orthodontists and maxillofacial surgeons to make a systematic study of the cervical spine in craniofacial dysmorphoses and in particular craniofacial asymmetries, without claiming that they are becoming specialists in cervical spine pathology, and to introduce the necessary training in malformations of this anatomical region as part of the orthodontist specialisation curriculum.

Introduction: The diagnostic approach to facial asymmetries is classically based, in addition to the clinical examination, on a cephalometric analysis carried out on a frontal radiography. Planning of orthognathic surgery requires a three-dimensional (3D) examination to visualize deformities. Nevertheless, the use of cephalometric analysis on 3D imaging remains clinically modest.

Most current highly efficient organic solar cells utilize small molecules like Y6 and its derivatives as electron acceptors in the photoactive layer. In this work, a small molecule acceptor, SC8-IT4F, is developed through outer side chain engineering on the terminal thiophene of a conjugated 6,12-dihydro-dithienoindeno[2,3-d:2',3'-d']-s-indaceno[1,2-b:5,6-b']dithiophene (IDTT) central core. Compared to the reference molecule C8-IT4F, which lacks outer side chains, SC8-IT4F displays notable differences in molecule geometry (as shown by simulations), thermal behavior, single-crystal packing, and film morphology.

Circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) and mechanochromic luminescence (MCL) have independently made substantial progress in recent years. However, the exploration of MCL in solid-state CPL materials, which holds practical significance, is still in its infancy. Herein, we report the MCL properties of readily accessible chiral pyrenylprolinamides bearing tert-butoxycarbonyl (Boc) or 2,2,2-trichloroethoxycarbonyl (Troc) groups.

We extend (EUCLID Efficient Unsupervised Constitutive Law Identification and Discovery)-a data-driven framework for automated material model discovery-to pressure-sensitive plasticity models, encompassing arbitrarily shaped yield surfaces with convexity constraints and non-associated flow rules. The method only requires full-field displacement and boundary force data from one single experiment and delivers constitutive laws as interpretable mathematical expressions. We construct a material model library for pressure-sensitive plasticity models with non-associated flow rules in four steps: (1) a Fourier series describes an arbitrary yield surface shape in the deviatoric stress plane; (2) a pressure-sensitive term in the yield function defines the shape of the shear failure surface and determines plastic deformation under tension; (3) a compression cap term determines plastic deformation under compression; (4) a non-associated flow rule may be adopted to avoid the excessive dilatancy induced by plastic deformations.

Quantum error mitigation, a data processing technique for recovering the statistics of target processes from their noisy version, is a crucial task for near-term quantum technologies. Most existing methods require prior knowledge of the noise model or the noise parameters. Deep neural networks have the potential to lift this requirement, but current models require training data produced by ideal processes in the absence of noise.

Severe dry eye disease (DED) is an inflammatory condition characterized by a lack of sufficient moisture or lubrication on the surface of the eye, significantly impacting the quality of life and visual function. Since detrimental immune response is crucially responsible for the development and aggravation of DED, therapeutic agents which modulate phenotype and function of eye-infiltrated inflammatory immune cells could be used for the treatment of severe DED. Due to their potent immunomodulatory properties, mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) represent potentially new remedies for the treatment of inflammatory eye diseases.

For weakly interacting adsorbate/substrate systems, the integer charge transfer (ICT) model describes how charge transfer across interfaces depends on the substrate work function. In particular, work function regimes where no charge transfer occurs (vacuum level alignment) can be distinguished from regions where integer charge transfer by electron tunneling from substrate to adsorbate or vice versa takes place (Fermi level pinning). While the formation of singly integer charged molecular anions and cations of organic semiconductors on various substrates has been well described by this model, the double integer charging regime has so far remained unexplored and experimentally elusive.

The rapid advancement of covalent organic frameworks (COFs) in recent years has firmly established them as a new class of molecularly precise and highly tuneable porous materials. However, compared to other porous materials, such as zeolites and metal-organic frameworks, the successful integration of hierarchical porosity into COFs remains largely unexplored. The challenge lies in identifying appropriate synthetic methods to introduce secondary pores without compromising the intrinsic structural porosity of COFs.
