Unveiling the Centrosymmetric Effect in the Design of Narrowband Fluorescent Emitters: From Single to Double Difluoroboron Cores.

J Am Chem Soc

December 2024

Key Laboratory of Green Chemistry and Technology of Ministry of Education, College of Chemistry, Sichuan University, 29 Wangjiang Road, Chengdu 610064, People's Republic of China.

Narrowband fluorescent emitters are receiving significant attention due to the great potential for creating ultrahigh-definition organic light-emitting diode displays (UHD-OLED). Unveiling innovative mechanisms to design new high-performance narrowband fluorescent emitters is a concerted endeavor in both academic and industrial circles. Theoretical calculations reveal that the centrosymmetric dianilido-bipyridine boron difluoride framework (-DAPBF) exhibits significantly reduced structural relaxation compared to previously reported asymmetric structures with monofluoroboron cores, creating new opportunities for the development of narrowband fluorescent emitters.

The processes of electrochemical deposition of Ni on vertically aligned GaAs nanowires (NWs) grown by molecular-beam epitaxy (MBE) using Au as a growth catalyst on Si(111) substrates were studied. Based on the results of electrochemical deposition, it was concluded that during the MBE synthesis of NWs the self-induced formation of conductive channels can occur inside NWs, thereby forming quasi core-shell nanowires. Depending on the length of the channel compare to the NW heights and the parameters of electrochemical deposition, the different hybrid metal-semiconductor nanostructures, such as Ni nanoparticles on GaAs NW side walls, Ni clusters on top ends of GaAs NWs, core-shell Ni/GaAs NWs, were obtained.

It is widely recognized that fuzzy number theory relies on the characteristic function. However, within the fuzzy realm, the characteristic function transforms into a membership function contingent upon the interval [0,1]. This implies that real numbers and intervals represent exceptional cases of fuzzy numbers.

Key Laboratory of Green Chemistry & Technology of Ministry of Education, College of Chemistry, Sichuan University, Chengdu 610064, P. R. China.

Although methods for synthesizing chiral phosphorus scaffolds are available, the potential of this molecular chirality remains largely unexplored. Herein, we present a remote desymmetrization of prochiral biaryl phosphine oxides through an organocatalytic asymmetric arylation. This metal-free approach enables the efficient synthesis of a wide range of densely functionalized P(V)-stereogenic compounds with good to excellent yields and satisfactory enantioselectivities.

Polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs) have attracted broad interest as promising sustainable materials to address plastic pollution and resource scarcity. However, the chemical synthesis of stereoregular PHAs via ring-opening polymerization (ROP) has long been an elusive endeavor. In this contribution, we exploited a robust spiro-salen yttrium complex (Y3) as the catalyst to successfully prepare syndiotactic PHAs with diverse pendent groups.
