Targeting the Menin-KMT2A interaction in leukemia: Lessons learned and future directions.

Chromosomal rearrangements involving the Mixed Lineage Leukemia gene (MLL1, KMT2A) are defining a genetically distinct subset in about 10% of human acute leukemias. Translocations involving the KMT2A-locus at chromosome 11q23 are resulting in the formation of a chimeric oncogene, where the N-terminal part of KMT2A is fused to a variety of translocation partners. The most frequently found fusion partners of KMT2A in acute leukemia are the C-terminal parts of AFF1, MLLT3, MLLT1 and MLLT10.

SARS-CoV-2 surveillance in a hospital and control of an outbreak on a geriatric ward using whole genome sequencing.

Background: During the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, dominant viral variants were repeatedly replaced by new variants with altered properties, frequently changing the dynamics of the infection event, as well as the effectiveness of vaccines and therapeutics. SARS-CoV-2 variant monitoring by whole genome sequencing was established at the University Medical Center Mainz, Germany to support patient management during the pandemic.

Methods: SARS-CoV-2 RNA samples from the University Medical Center were analysed weekly with whole genome sequencing.

Objective: The investigators compared neuropsychiatric symptoms among COVID-19 patients at hospital admission and at discharge.

Methods: Clinical data on neuropsychiatric syndromes were prospectively collected from 103 COVID-19 patients at admission and immediately before discharge. Clinical evaluations and serum biomarkers were analyzed to assess their relationship with neuropsychiatric symptoms and patient survival.

Background: The concepts of masculinity and femininity have historically shaped gender roles, leading to inequality and gender-based discrimination. Women's autonomy, defined as the ability to make independent choices across various life domains, remains inadequately measured by existing scales. Background: Optical spectral transmission (OST) is a modern diagnostic method capable of quantifying inflammation in the finger and wrist joints of arthritis patients by assessing the blood-specific absorption of light transmitted through a tissue. The diagnostic performance of this modality has not been adequately examined and data regarding OST associations with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) are limited. Aim of this study was therefore to investigate the performance of OST in assessing joint inflammation as compared to MRI in patients with inflammatory arthritis (IA).

Associations between adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and aggressive behavior have often been demonstrated, but the mechanisms underneath these relations are yet unclear. As high levels of ACEs and aggression have been found among individuals with attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), ADHD dimensions might explain this association. Moreover, maladaptive emotion regulation is common in ADHD and was associated with aggressive behavior.

However, their formation and internal organization remain poorly understood. Here, we have study the phase separation of Bik1, a CLIP-170 family member and key +TIP involved in budding yeast cell division.

Current airway management practice among Swiss anesthesiologists : Results of a national survey.

Background: While limited data on the impact of implementing guidelines in airway management on outcomes exist, there is a consensus that the implementation and the adherence to guidelines enhance patient safety. Recently, the Swiss Society for Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine (SSAPM) endorsed the guidelines of The Fondation Latine des Voies Aériennes (FLAVA) as the official guidelines for airway management in Switzerland. This study aimed to determine current practice of airway management in Switzerland.

Cognitive flexibility is the ability to appropriately adapt one's thinking and behavior to changing environmental demands and is conceptualized as an aspect of executive function. The dopamine system has been implicated in cognitive flexibility; however, a direct, that is, neurochemical, link to cognitive flexibility has not been shown yet. The aim of this study was, therefore, to investigate how cognitive flexibility is mediated by dopaminergic signaling in the ventromedial prefrontal cortex (vmPFC).

[CA 19-9 Secreting Extralobar Sequestration Presenting as a Bifocal Posterior Mediastinal Tumour].

A 60-year-old female patient was referred for further diagnosis and treatment of a posterior mediastinal lesion. The lesion was incidentally discovered in a CT scan of the chest and abdomen, which had been performed due to an increased CA 19-9 in routine blood tests. At the time point of the referral, the lesion had already been biopsied twice (CT guided and through EUS) but the histopathology was inconclusive.

Using a high-statistics measurement, electron-capture probabilities shall be precisely determined and higher-order effects such as electron shake-up and shake-off shall be examined with unprecedented precision.

Ancient genomics and the origin, dispersal, and development of domestic sheep.

The origins and prehistory of domestic sheep () are incompletely understood; to address this, we generated data from 118 ancient genomes spanning 12,000 years sampled from across Eurasia. Genomes from Central Türkiye ~8000 BCE are genetically proximal to the domestic origins of sheep but do not fully explain the ancestry of later populations, suggesting a mosaic of wild ancestries. Genomic signatures indicate selection by ancient herders for pigmentation patterns, hornedness, and growth rate.

Importance: Triple-negative breast cancer is an aggressive subtype with a high incidence in young patients, a high incidence in non-Hispanic Black women, and a high risk of progression to metastatic cancer, a devastating sequela with a 12- to 18-month life expectancy. Until recently, one strategy for treating early-stage triple-negative breast cancer was chemotherapy after surgery. However, it was not known whether the addition of immune therapy to postsurgery chemotherapy would be beneficial.

Background: The integration of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) into routine gynecologic cancer treatment requires a thorough understanding of how to manage immune-related adverse events (irAEs) to ensure patient safety. However, reports on real-world clinical experience in the management of ICIs in gynecologic oncology are very limited. Left Atrial Appendage Occlusion in Patients With Atrial Fibrillation and Hemodialysis: An International, Multicentric Registry.

Precise Measurement of the e^{+}e^{-}→D_{s}^{+}D_{s}^{-} Cross Section at Center-of-Mass Energies from Threshold to 4.95 GeV.

Using the e^{+}e^{-} collision data collected with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII collider, at center-of-mass energies from the threshold to 4.95 GeV, we present precise measurements of the cross section for the process e^{+}e^{-}→D_{s}^{+}D_{s}^{-} using a single-tag method. The resulting cross section line shape exhibits several new structures, thereby offering an input for a future coupled-channel analysis and model tests, which are critical to understand vector charmonium-like states with masses between 4 and 5 GeV.
