Objective: To evaluate the electrical potentials and pressure exerted by the pelvic floor muscles in women with recurrent vulvovaginal candidiasis (RVVC) or vulvodynia as compared to control women.
Study Design: A cross-sectional study performed in the Female Outpatient Clinic of Genital Infections in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the Universidade Estadual de Campinas analyzed and compared electromyography (EMG) and vaginal pressure of the pelvic floor muscles in 61 women. Of these 61 women, 19 had vulvodynia, 12 had RVVC and 30 women had no disorder (control group).

Objective: To evaluate postoperative lymphatic compensation in the upper limb after mastectomy with axillary dissection.
Subjects And Methods: Twenty-three patients who underwent lymphoscintigraphy before and 60 days after surgery were enrolled from September 2006 to June 2007, in Campinas, Brazil. Protocol examination consisted in static imaging of each upper limb in semi-flexion and thoracic imaging after 10 min and 1 and 2 hr after subcutaneous injection of 1 mCi (37 MBq) of 99mTc dextran into the dorsum of the hand.

Objective: Studies show that adherence to osteoporosis treatment and prevention is low, which could interfere with therapeutic response. The aim of this study was to evaluate the ability of women to follow a treatment for osteoporosis with different anti-reabsorptives in relation to the prescribed regimen, dose, indications, and mode of ingestion.
Methods: A cross-sectional study that included postmenopausal women all undergoing medicated treatment because of densitometric diagnosis of osteopenia or osteoporosis was carried out by means of the MedTake questionnaire.

Objective: To evaluate quality of life (QoL) in women with postmenopausal osteoporosis, correlating the QUALEFFO 41 with the short-form health survey 36 (SF-36) and evaluated some factors that can influenced the QoL of women with osteoporosis.
Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted in 220 postmenopausal women (ages ranging from 55 to 80 years). Of the total number, 110 women had osteoporosis and 110 women did not have osteoporosis and these women were age-matched (+/-3 years).
