Background: Immune ageing complicates cancer treatment in older individuals. While immunotherapy targeting the PD-1/PD-L1 pathway can reinvigorate T cells, these cells tend to become senescent with age. The Grotte du Bison, in Arcy-sur-Cure (Yonne, France), yielded a large assemblage of 49 Neandertal remains from late Mousterian layers, offering critical insights for the study of Middle to Upper Paleolithic populations of Western Europe. Previous studies described the external morphology of 13 isolated teeth and a partial maxilla. Building on this previous work, the current study provides further descriptions and analyses of the remains, including one postcranial fragment, six cranial fragments, two maxillary fragments, and 40 isolated teeth.

This paper introduces a prognostic method called FLASH that addresses the problem of joint modeling of longitudinal data and censored durations when a large number of both longitudinal and time-independent features are available. In the literature, standard joint models are either of the shared random effect or joint latent class type. Combining ideas from both worlds and using appropriate regularization techniques, we define a new model with the ability to automatically identify significant prognostic longitudinal features in a high-dimensional context, which is of increasing importance in many areas such as personalized medicine or churn prediction.

Herein, we report the synthesis, photophysical characterization and validation of iridium(iii)-polypyridine complexes functionalized for click chemistry and bioorthogonal chemistry, as well as their versatile applications as probes in bioimaging studies exploiting metabolic labeling. The designed dyes are conjugated to chemical reporters in a specific manner within cells by CuAAC ligation and display attractive photophysical properties in the UV-visible range. They are indeed highly photostable and emit in the far-red to near-IR region with long lifetimes and large Stokes shifts.

We recorded and analyzed the microwave spectra of 2,5-dimethylanisole using a pulsed molecular jet Fourier transform microwave spectrometer and the newly developed Passage And Resonant-Impulse Synergy spectrometer across a frequency range of 2-26.5 GHz with support from quantum chemical calculations. During meiosis, programmed DNA double-strand breaks (DSBs) are formed by the topoisomerase-like enzyme, Spo11, activating the DNA damage response (DDR) kinase Mec1ATR via the checkpoint clamp loader, Rad24RAD17. At single loci, loss of Mec1 and Rad24 activity alters DSB formation and recombination outcome, but their genome-wide roles have not been examined in detail. Here, we utilise two strategies-deletion of the mismatch repair protein, Msh2, and control of meiotic prophase length via regulation of the Ndt80 transcription factor-to help characterise the roles Mec1 and Rad24 play in meiotic recombination by enabling genome-wide mapping of meiotic progeny.
