Advances in the characterization of intrinsically disordered proteins (IDPs) have unveiled a remarkably complex and diverse interaction landscape, including coupled folding and binding, highly dynamic complexes, multivalent interactions, and even interactions between entirely disordered proteins. Here we review recent examples of IDP binding mechanisms elucidated by experimental techniques such as nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, single-molecule Förster resonance energy transfer, and stopped-flow fluorescence. These techniques provide insights into the structural details of transition pathways and complex intermediates, and they capture the dynamics of IDPs within complexes.

Objectives: SARS-CoV-2 mRNA vaccine reactogenicity has raised concerns regarding the risk of rejection in solid organ transplant recipients. We explored whether SOT recipients diagnosed with acute rejection had previously received a vaccine injection within a timeframe consistent with a causal link.

Batteries based on sulfur cathodes offer a promising energy storage solution due to their potential for high performance, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability. However, commercial viability is challenged by issues such as polysulfide migration, volume changes, uneven phase nucleation, limited ion transport, and sluggish sulfur redox kinetics. Obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) contributes to cerebrovascular diseases and cognitive decline. It is currently unclear how Pseudomonadota, a phylum that originated around the time of the Great Oxidation Event, became one of the most abundant and diverse bacterial phyla on Earth, with metabolically versatile members colonizing a wide range of environments with different O2 concentrations. Here, we address this question by studying isoprenoid quinones, which are central components of energy metabolism covering a wide range of redox potentials. We demonstrate that a dynamic repertoire of quinone biosynthetic pathways accompanied the diversification of Pseudomonadota.

X-ray speckles have been used in a wide range of experiments, including imaging (and tomography), wavefront sensing, spatial coherence measurements, X-ray photon correlation spectroscopy and ptychography. In this review and experimental comparison, we focus on using X-ray near-field speckle grains as wavefront markers and numerical methods for retrieving the phase information they contain. We present the most common tracking methods, introducing the existing algorithms with their specifications and comparing their performances under various experimental conditions.
