According to the latest statistics, more than 537 million people around the world struggle with diabetes and its adverse consequences. As well as acute risks of hypo- or hyper- glycemia, long-term vascular complications may occur, including coronary heart disease or stroke, as well as diabetic nephropathy leading to end-stage disease, neuropathy or retinopathy. Therefore, there is an urgent need to improve diabetes management to reduce the risk of complications but also to improve patient's quality life.

Immune response induced by COVID-19 vaccine booster against delta and omicron variants was assessed in 65 adults (65-84 years old) early aftesr a first booster dose. An increase in SARS-CoV-2 neutralizing antibodies was shown in individuals not previously infected without evidence of an age-related effect, with lower increase in those infected before a single dose of primary vaccination. Of note, humoral response was observed only starting from the 5th day after the boost.

Importance: Treatment options for patients with unresectable and/or metastatic dedifferentiated liposarcoma (DDLPS) are limited. New drugs are required.
Objective: To assess whether cabazitaxel demonstrated sufficient antitumor activity in patients with metastatic or inoperable locally advanced DDLPS to justify further investigation in a phase 3 setting.

Quercetin (3,3',4',5,7-pentahydroxyl-flavone) is a natural flavonoid with many valuable biological effects, but its solubility in water is low, posing major limitations in applications. Quercetin encapsulation in liposomes increases its bioavailability; the drug effect on liposome elastic properties is required for formulation development. Here, we quantify the effect of quercetin molecules on the rigidity of lipoid E80 liposomes using atomic force microscopy (AFM) and molecular dynamics (MD) simulations.

This present study investigated the link between speech-in-speech perception capacities and four executive function components: response suppression, inhibitory control, switching and working memory. We constructed a cross-modal semantic priming paradigm using a written target word and a spoken prime word, implemented in one of two concurrent auditory sentences (cocktail party situation). The prime and target were semantically related or unrelated.

The amount of biological sequences introduced in the general collections, and the growing complexity of the biological knowledge require the construction of models to formalize this knowledge and particularly the relationships between several data types. Two examples of such situations are presented here, they result from the biological research lead in our team in the field of molecular evolution. ColiGene is a modelling of E.
