Objective: To analyze the local field potentials (LFPs) in patients with focal drug-resistant epilepsy (DRE) from the anterior nucleus of the thalamus (ANT) during inter-ictal state and seizure state.
Method: ANT stereotactic EEG (SEEG) recordings were studied in four patients with focal temporal lobe epilepsy. SEEG data was classified as inter-ictal and ictal state and sub-categorized into electrographic (ESz), focal aware seizure (FAS), focal with impaired awareness (FIA), or focal to bilateral tonic-clonic seizure (FBTC).

Chlorine 36 (Cl) is a radionuclide of natural and anthropogenic origin, mainly used as a tracer in geochemical studies. Owing to analytical constraints and its low environmental levels, knowledge of Cl behavior in the environment is still very limited. In this study, we use environmental measurements to report for the first time the wet deposition fluxes of Cl downwind an anthropogenic source, the Orano nuclear reprocessing plant, which chronically emits Cl into the environment.

Objective: The aim is to gain insight into the pathophysiological mechanisms underlying interictal epileptiform discharges observed in electroencephalographic (EEG) and stereo-EEG (SEEG, depth electrodes) recordings performed during pre-surgical evaluation of patients with drug-resistant epilepsy.
Methods: We developed novel neuro-inspired computational models of the human cerebral cortex at three different levels of description: i) microscale (detailed neuron models), ii) mesoscale (neuronal mass models) and iii) macroscale (whole brain models). Although conceptually different, micro- and mesoscale models share some similar features, such as the typology of neurons (pyramidal cells and three types of interneurons), their spatial arrangement in cortical layers, and their synaptic connectivity (excitatory and inhibitory).

The syntheses of novel 2,4-bis[(substituted-aminomethyl)phenyl]phenylquinazolines and 2,4-bis[(substituted-aminomethyl)phenyl]phenylquinolines are reported here in six steps starting from various halogeno-quinazoline-2,4-(1,3)-diones or substituted anilines. The antiproliferative activities of the products were determined in vitro against a panel of breast (MCF-7 and MDA-MB-231), human adherent cervical (HeLa and SiHa), and ovarian (A2780) cell lines. Disubstituted 6- and 7-phenyl-bis(3-dimethylaminopropyl)aminomethylphenyl-quinazolines , , and displayed the most interesting antiproliferative activities against six human cancer cell lines.

Patients with Parkinson's disease often complain of excessive daytime sleepiness which negatively impacts their quality of life. The pedunculopontine nucleus, proposed as a target for deep brain stimulation to improve freezing of gait in Parkinson's disease, is also known to play a key role in the arousal system. Thus, the putative control of excessive daytime sleepiness by pedunculopontine nucleus area stimulation merits exploration for treating Parkinson's disease patients.

The end of the 20th century was characterised by rapid modifications of ecosystem functioning under different pressures (such as eutrophication and toxic pollution). Increasing temperatures in the context of global warming could have indirect consequences, such as increased bioavailability of hydrophobic organic pollutants amongst aquatic species. Background And Objective: Blood biomarkers for Alzheimer disease (AD) have consistently proven to be associated with CSF or PET biomarkers and effectively discriminate AD from other neurodegenerative diseases. Our aim was to test their utility in clinical practice, from a multicentric unselected prospective cohort where patients presented with a large spectrum of cognitive deficits or complaints.
Methods: The MEMENTO cohort enrolled 2,323 outpatients with subjective cognitive complaint (SCC) or mild cognitive impairment (MCI) consulting in 26 French memory clinics.

Objectives: To evaluate the characteristics of patients (pts) with PsA treated by ustekinumab (UST) or secukinumab (SEK) and to compare real-world persistence of UST and SEK in PsA.
Methods: In this retrospective, national, multicentre cohort study, pts with PsA (CASPAR criteria or diagnosis confirmed by the rheumatologist) initiating UST or SEK with a follow-up ≥6 months were included from January 2011 to April 2019. The persistence between SEK and UST was assessed after considering the potential confounding factors by using pre-specified propensity-score methods.

Spatial current measurements are rare in this site, otherwise well investigated through modelling. In addition to the already described ligand , two pyclen-based lanthanide chelators, and , bearing two specific picolinate two-photon antennas (tailor-made for each targeted metal) and one acetate arm arranged in a dissymmetrical manner, have been synthesized, to form a complete family of lanthanide luminescent bioprobes: [Eu], [Sm], [Yb], [Tb], and [Dy]. Additionally, the symmetrically arranged regioisomer was also synthesized as well as its [Eu] complex to highlight the astonishing positive impact of the dissymmetrical -distribution of the functional chelating arms. The investigation clearly shows the high performance of each bioprobe, which, depending on the complexed lanthanide, could be used in various applications.

Cationic lanthanide complexes are generally able to spontaneously internalize into living cells. Following our previous works based on a diMe-cyclen framework, a second generation of cationic water-soluble lanthanide complexes based on a constrained cross-bridged cyclam macrocycle functionalized with donor-π-conjugated picolinate antennas was prepared with europium(III) and ytterbium(III). Their spectroscopic properties were thoroughly investigated in various solvents and rationalized with the help of DFT calculations.
