Background: ESPERES, a prospective e-cohort study is designed to assess attitudes and perceptions of the COVID-19 pandemic among French health care workers.

Objectives: We aimed to document (i) their confidence in the information directly transmitted by their health care institutions; (ii) the role of physicians in the development of normative beliefs about vaccines against COVID-19 among them; (iii) their view of issues related to governmental health institution communication; and (iv) the impact of this communication on their posture to promote vaccine adherence among patients.

Animal models offer invaluable insights into disease mechanisms but cannot entirely mimic the variability and heterogeneity of human populations, nor the increasing prevalence of multi-morbidity. Consequently, employing human samples-such as whole blood or fractions, valvular and vascular tissues, myocardium, pericardium, or human-derived cells-is essential for enhancing the translational relevance of cardiovascular research. Rivers are often seen as vectors for microplastic transport from land to the ocean; however, the sediment-water interface of rivers also provides opportunity for the temporary storage and retention of plastic debris. Hydrological, sedimentary, physical, chemical and biological factors influence microplastic fate and transport, yet the influence of the interactions between these different drivers and mechanisms on microplastic transport at the sediment-water interface remains poorly understood. This study investigates how hydrological exchanges impact microplastics distribution in streambed sediments by comparing microplastic concentrations in zones with surface-groundwater exchange fluxes (upwelling or downwelling) and zones with sediment accumulation along gravel bars situated in the lower catchment of the Ain River (France).

Asymptotic Underscreening in Concentrated Electrolytes Measured by Optical Second Harmonic Scattering of Water.

We show that with optical second harmonic scattering, one can measure the screening length in the bulk phase of aqueous electrolytes. The methodology is based on the analysis of the coherent contribution describing the water-water orientation correlation function present in the polarization-resolved optical second harmonic scattering intensity. Measurements were performed up to highly concentrated NaCl and LiCl electrolyte solutions, enabling the development of a theoretical framework valid over the whole salt concentration range.

In 1936, Eyring introduced a model for plastic flow which still forms the bedrock of practically all studies on plasticity of glassy polymers. Though the concept of activated process he introduced is fundamentally relevant, we argue here that under no circumstances can the Eyring model be correct as it violates Curie's principle, which is a basic physical requirement of statistical mechanics. An alternative model was proposed by [Long , , 2018, , 105601] to describe the acceleration of the dynamics by an applied stress, in which the elastic energy stored at the length scale of dynamical heterogeneities ≈ 3 - 5 nm reduces the free energy barriers for relaxation.

Impulse control disorders (ICDs) are frequent and particularly distressing neuropsychiatric symptoms in patients with Parkinson's disease (PD) which are related to impaired behavioural inhibition. Multiple PET imaging studies indicate that striatal dopaminergic abnormalities contribute to hyperdopaminergic functioning in PD patients with ICD (PDICD+) and to the dysregulation of the limbic fronto-striatal networks which are critical for reward-related decision impulsivity.
