This study aimed to evaluate different combinations of three dietary supplements for potential additive or synergistic effects in an Parkinson's Disease model. The complex and diverse processes leading to neurodegeneration in each patient with a neurodegenerative disorder cannot be effectively addressed by a single medication. Instead, various combinations of potentially neuroprotective agents targeting different disease mechanisms simultaneously may show improved additive or synergistic efficacy in slowing the disease progression and allowing the agents to be utilized at lower doses to minimize side effects.

Bacterial pneumonia is a common disease in adult horses, but there are no guidelines for practitioners regarding risk factors, diagnosis, and management of the disease. The objectives of this study were to describe how a group of equine veterinarians diagnose and treat bacterial pneumonia in adult horses. A 22-question survey was distributed via multiple platforms to equine veterinarians asking questions regarding the frequency with which they identified specific clinical findings and used certain diagnostic modalities, and the approach to antimicrobial and adjunct therapy.

Diabetic cardiomyopathy (DMCM), defined as left ventricular dysfunction in the setting of diabetes mellitus without hypertension, coronary artery disease or valvular heart disease, is a well-recognized entity whose prevalence is certainly predicted to increase alongside the rising incidence and prevalence of diabetes mellitus. The pathophysiology of DMCM stems from hyperglycemia and insulin resistance, resulting in oxidative stress, inflammation, cardiomyocyte death, and fibrosis. These perturbations lead to left ventricular hypertrophy with associated impaired relaxation early in the course of the disease, and eventually culminating in combined systolic and diastolic heart failure.

This study aimed at quantifying the potential effects of plant and soil microbial interaction on selenium (Se) volatilization, with the specific objectives of identifying soil bacteria associated with rabbitfoot grass () and demonstrating the enhancement of Se volatilization in the soil-Indian mustard () system through inoculation of the soil with the identified best Se-volatilizing bacterial strain. The authenticity of the oligos has been verified via DNA sequencing, and gene construction and expression.
