Many biological fibrous tissues exhibit distinctive mechanical properties arising from their highly organized fibrous structure. In disease conditions, alterations in the primary components of these fibers, such as type I collagen molecules in bone, tendons, and ligaments, assembly into a disorganized fibers architecture generating a weak and/or brittle material. Being able to quantitatively assess the fibers orientation and organization in biological tissue may help improve our understanding of their contribution to the tissue and organ mechanical integrity, and assess disease progress and therapy effect.

Introduction: Antiretroviral therapy (ART) increases the life expectancy of persons living with HIV (PLWH), but not without potentially serious adverse effects. Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate (TDF) can cause nephrotoxicity, manifesting as acute kidney injury (AKI) that may persist after treatment discontinuation. Kidney injury biomarkers such as kidney injury molecule-1 (KIM-1), retinol-binding protein-4 (RBP-4), interleukin-18 (IL-18), and neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL) can aid early diagnosis and predict TDF-associated nephrotoxicity.

Objectives: This study analyzes survey data across 21 countries to explore correlations between delays in blood testing and the prevalence of seven health conditions: thalassaemias, sickle cell disorders, malaria, HIV, high fasting plasma glucose, impaired kidney function, and high LDL cholesterol.

Methods: We analyzed Pandemic Recovery Survey data via multivariable logistic regression to compare blood test delays between individuals with and without medical conditions, while adjusting for sociodemographic factors. This study conducts a bibliometric analysis of 252 scientific publications from 2001 to 2023, exploring the evolution and emerging trends in agricultural data spaces. Analyzing articles from the Web of Science and Scopus databases, we address six research questions: the current and interconnected key topics in agricultural data spaces (RQ1), the evolution of research themes over time (RQ2), emerging trends in the field (RQ3), the identification of leading researchers (RQ4), and the primary funding sources for this research area (RQ5), the relationship among research data and small farmers (RQ6). Our findings reveal a shift from traditional to innovative research themes, such as the increasing focus on the Internet of Things (IoT), Blockchain, and Digital Storage.

Muscle repair and regeneration are complex processes. In Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD), these processes are disrupted by the loss of functional dystrophin, a key part of the transmembrane dystrophin-associated glycoprotein complex that stabilizes myofibers, indirectly leading to progressive muscle wasting, subsequent loss of ambulation, respiratory and cardiac insufficiency, and premature death. As part of the DMD pathology, histone deacetylase (HDAC) activity is constitutively increased, leading to epigenetic changes and inhibition of muscle regeneration factors, chronic inflammation, fibrosis, and adipogenesis.
