Growing the bioeconomy requires products and pathways that are cost-competitive. Technoeconomic analyses (TEAs) aim to predict the long-term economic viability and often use what are known as n plant cost and performance parameters. N-Nitrosamines, many of which are carcinogenic, mutagenic, and teratogenic, are disinfection byproducts (DBPs) formed from the reaction of chloramine with nitrogenous organic compounds during water disinfection. The identification of major nitrosamine precursors is important to understand and prevent nitrosamine formation. In this analysis, we propose that efforts to identify nitrosamine precursors must look beyond conventionally evaluated active agent chemicals to consider inert or inactive chemicals as potentially relevant precursors.

The impact of the laser wavelength on accuracy in elemental composition analysis in atom probe tomography (APT) was investigated. Three different commercial atom probe systems - LEAP 3000X HR, LEAP 5000 XR, and LEAP 6000 XR - were systematically compared for a TiN model coating studying the effect of shorter laser wavelengths, especially in the deep ultraviolet (DUV) range, on the evaporation behavior. The findings demonstrate that the use of shorter wavelengths enhances the accuracy in elemental composition, while maintaining similar electric field strengths.

Introduction: Abiraterone and enzalutamide are both approved in the United States for the treatment of metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC). The objective of this study was to compare the real-world effectiveness and cardiovascular safety of these agents, drawing from a cohort of older adult patients diagnosed with mCRPC.
Materials And Methods: The Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results-Medicare database was used to conduct an observational study comparing three-year overall survival and one-year risk of major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) between initiators of abiraterone or enzalutamide between September 2012 and June 2017.

Stochastic neurons are extremely efficient hardware for solving a large class of problems and usually come in two varieties - "binary" where the neuronal state varies randomly between two values of ±1 and "analog" where the neuronal state can randomly assume any value between -1 and +1. Both have their uses in neuromorphic computing and both can be implemented with low- or zero-energy-barrier nanomagnets whose random magnetization orientations in the presence of thermal noise encode the binary or analog state variables. In between these two classes is n-ary stochastic neurons, mainly ternary stochastic neurons (TSN) whose state randomly assumes one of three values (-1, 0, +1), which have proved to be efficient in pattern classification tasks such as recognizing handwritten digits from the MNIST data set or patterns from the CIFAR-10 data set.

Background: In recent years, the intersection of natural language processing (NLP) and public health has opened innovative pathways for investigating social determinants of health (SDOH) in textual datasets. Despite the promise of NLP in the SDOH domain, the literature is dispersed across various disciplines, and there is a need to consolidate existing knowledge, identify knowledge gaps in the literature, and inform future research directions in this emerging field.
Objective: This research protocol describes a systematic review to identify and highlight NLP techniques, including large language models, used for SDOH-related studies.

A layered lithium-rich manganese-based oxide cathode, containing 3̅ (LiTMO, TM = Mn, Ni, Co) and 2/ (LiMnO) nanodomains, utilizes both transition metals and oxygen redox to yield substantial energy density. However, the inherent heterogeneous nature and distinct nanodomain redox chemistries of layered lithium-rich oxides will inevitably cause pernicious lattice strain and structural displacement, which can hardly be eliminated by conventional doping or coating strategies and result in accelerated performance decay. Herein, we incorporate a strain-inhibiting perovskite phase coherently grown within the layered structure to effectively restrain the displacement and lattice strain during uneven Li-ion extraction.

Methods: Using data from the 2022-2023 American Men's Internet Survey, this cross-sectional analysis examined demographic, behavioral, and healthcare-related factors associated with MSM's utilization of patient portals for sharing STI test results. Participants ( = 2601) were surveyed on portal use, STI testing frequency, and partner disclosure practices.
