N6-methyladenosine (m6A) modification and m6A-related RNA-binding proteins (RBPs) play vital roles in various aspects of circRNA metabolism. Hsa_circRNA_103820 is implicated in the pathogenesis of multiple cancers, including lung cancer (LC). Moreover, bioinformatics analysis has suggested that hsa_circRNA_103820 possesses potential peptide-coding ability.

To evaluate the effect of imatinib on growth impairment in children with chronic myeloid leukemia (CML-CP) in the chronic phase. From July 2018 to July 2019, questionnaires were distributed to CML children aged <18 years at the time of diagnosis who were receiving imatinib for at least 3 months or to their parents in China. The height-for-age standard deviation score (HtSDS) and the difference of standard deviation integral (△HtSDS) were used to explore the change in height with imatinib therapy.

Objective: To investigate the expression of targeting protein for Xenopus kinesin-like protein 2 (TPX2) in breast cancer tissue and to explore its role in proliferation, migration and invasion of breast cancer cells.
Methods: The mRNA and protein expressions of TPX2 in breast cancer tissue and cell lines were assessed by quantitative RT-PCR and Western blot. The effect of TPX2 with RNA interference on proliferation, invasion and migration of breast cancer cells was observed by MTT and Transwell assays.

Aberrant activation of oncoproteins such as members of the Ras family is common in human lung cancers. The proper function of Ras largely depends on a post-translational modification termed prenylation. Bisphosphonates have been shown to inhibit prenylation in cancer cells.

Objectives: Obesity has been reported to increase the risk of colorectal cancer, which may due to aberrant lipid metabolism. And recently findings of monoacylglycerol lipase provide a novel evidence in the correlation of obesity and cancer. So in this study, we investigated the effect of MAGL in regulation of tumor growth in colorectal cancer.

Background: Open colectomy has been preferred for intestinal neuronal dysplasia type B (IND) due to its low morbidity rate and good functional results. The aim of this study was to investigate the feasibility and results of laparoscopic colectomy with transanal Soave pull-through for the treatment of IND in children.
Methods: Seventeen infants and children suffering from IND were treated by laparoscopic extensive colectomy with transanal Soave pull-through.

Objective: A major problem in the chemotherapy of colon caner may be due to those cells that are in residence in the G0 phase where they are less vulnerable to conventional therapy. To overcome this phenomenon, we attempted to recruit the reentry of these cells into the cell cycle via a signaling pathway that manipulates tumor growth.
Methods: Epidermal growth factor (EGF) was used to stimulate colon cancer caco-2 cells.

Kupffer cells, expressing toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4), play a central role in hepatic ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury. Hyaluronic acid (HA) fragments, degradative products of high-molecular-weight HA (HMW-HA), acquire the ability to activate immune cells under inflammatory conditions. Here we investigated whether HA fragments could activate Kupffer cells and analyzed the underlying mechanism.

More and more patients have been diagnosed as having chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) in recent years. Western drug use for this syndrome is often associated with many side-effects and little clinical benefit. As an alternative medicine, traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has provided some evidences based upon ancient texts and recent studies, not only to offer clinical benefit but also offer insights into their mechanisms of action.

Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors (PPARs) alpha and gamma regulate nearly every step in cellular fatty acid uptake, utilization, oxidation, and storage pathways. They also control cell growth and migration, oxidative stress, and inflammation in the cardiovascular system. Recent studies have shown that PPARs have paradoxical effects on cardiovascular diseases, especially hypertension and heart failure.
