Objective: Due to their consistent and individualistic patterns, palatal rugae (PR) are used in forensic dentistry as an ancillary method for personal identification. This study aimed to compare the impression of the PR obtained with the classic alginate impression and casting of the plaster model with the impression of the palate made with an intraoral scanner. Both impressions were compared with each other and with the photograph of the palatal rugae.

Dental implant placement in the esthetic zone is associated with challenges for clinicians. The best esthetic outcome of this procedure can be obtained through precise management of hard and soft tissue. Orthodontic forced eruption (OFE) has presented an alternative approach to augment hard and soft tissues, which can be applied rapidly or slowly.

Nowadays, consent to use donor bodies for medical education and research is obtained from the body donors and their families before the donation. Recently, the International Federation of Associations of Anatomists (IFAA) published guidelines that could restrict the appearance of cadaveric images in commercial anatomical resources such as textbooks and other educational products. These guidelines state that the donor must expressly consent to using such images for this purpose.

Burn wounds are challenging to treat due to considerable tissue damage and fluid loss. Creating wound dressings from natural and biological materials makes it possible to treat wounds and promote rapid epithelialization to speed healing and restore skin function. As a result, the ability of a collagen scaffold (Col) made from rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) and putative bioactive phytochemical components from a Sargassum glaucescens (S.

Background: Molariform second premolar is a rare dental anomaly where the second premolar resembles a molar in size and shape. This condition is often linked to macrodontia, a rare enlargement of teeth that disrupts dental proportions and can manifest in isolated, relative, or generalized forms. Although mandibular second premolars are more prone to morphological variability, the occurrence of bilateral molariform premolars, induced by a unique form of gemination, is exceptionally uncommon and infrequently documented, thus making this case clinically significant.

Apical microsurgery is accurate and minimally invasive, produces few complications, and has a success rate of more than 90%. However, due to the lack of awareness and understanding of apical microsurgery by dental general practitioners and even endodontists, many clinical problems remain to be overcome. The consensus has gathered well-known domestic experts to hold a series of special discussions and reached the consensus.

Community-based dental education (CBDE) is essential for equipping dental students with the practical skills required for independent practice while simultaneously addressing the oral health needs of the community through real-world experiential learning. The success of CBDE initiatives rely on effective collaboration across stakeholders, including educational institutions, community organisations, and students, to address both faculty educational goals and community oral health needs. This paper introduces a practical toolbox to support CBDE program implementation.

The successful management of necrotic pulps and apical periodontitis poses a tough challenge in endodontic therapy, as it involves addressing compromised tooth vitality and microbial invasion of root canal systems. Failure to effectively treat these conditions can lead to persistent infection and severe patient discomfort. The efficacy of double antibiotic paste (DAP), a mixture of ciprofloxacin and metronidazole, was evaluated and compared to calcium hydroxide (CH) by assessing radiographic and clinical outcomes of nonsurgical endodontic treatment in cases with necrotic pulps and the presence of apical periodontitis.
