The overexpression of proinflammatory cytokines in obesity has suggested an association between obesity and inflammation. In this study, we aimed to predict the success of weight loss at the end of the first year of patients who underwent laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy (LSG) for morbid obesity using hemoglobin, albumin, lymphocyte, and platelet (HALP) score and modified HALP (m-HALP) score. Patients were divided into two groups according to the success of weight loss.

Popliteal access for endovascular procedures in femoropopliteal artery occlusive disease.

Background: Gain-of-function mutations of the NLR family pyrin domain containing 3 (NLRP3) gene have been implicated in autoinflammatory diseases. Background: Cyanoacrylate (CA) has been used as an embolizing agent in the treatment of greater saphenous vein (GSV) insufficiency in recent years and the results regarding the use of this method have started to be published. To the best of our knowledge, the publications in literature do not mention about a significant negative effect of endovenous CA (EVCA) embolization. We aimed to evaluate the effects and undesirable events of this relatively new treatment method and compare them with literature, using the follow-up data of our patients.

The relationship between H2FPEF score and contrast induced nephropathy in patients with ST elevation myocardial infarction.

In the present study, we aimed to investigate the relationship between H2FPEF score and Contrast Induced Nephropathy (CIN) in patients with myocardial infarction with ST segment elevation (STEMI). A total of 355 patients who had been diagnosed with ST elevation-myocardial infarction and undergone primary coronary angioplasty were retrospectively included in the study. The patients were divided into two groups according to the presence of CIN and these groups were compared in terms of baseline characteristics and laboratory findings.

Purpose: This study aimed to examine the diagnostic value of IL-6, thiol-disulfide homeostasis, complete blood count and inflammatory biomarkers in the prediction of acute appendicitis in children.

Methods: The study was designed as a prospective and controlled study in children-the study was conducted at a tertiary referential university hospital between May 2020 and April 2021. Patients were divided between study groups and one control group (CG): 1: confirmed acute appendicitis group (AAP); 2: perforated appendicitis group (PAP); and 3: non-specified abdominal pain (NAP).

Enhanced Recovery After Surgery Promotes Recovery in Sleeve Gastrectomy: A Randomized Controlled Trial.

Efficacy and safety of folfiri plus aflibercept in second-line treatment of metastatic colorectal cancer: Real-life data from Turkish oncology group.

The efficacy of St John's wort oil macerates on intractable skin lesions of patients with idiopathic granulomatous mastitis: preliminary results.

Objective: St John's wort (SJW, ) has a long history of medicinal use, mainly for its antidepressive effects and for wound healing. However, to the best of our knowledge, this is the first clinical study evaluating the effects of topical SJW oil macerates on the intractable skin lesions of idiopathic granulomatous mastitis (IGM).

Method: SJW oil massage (twice daily for two minutes) was recommended between 2016 and 2019, only for patients with persistent or intractable skin lesions, after complete regression of granulomatous mass with two cycles of high-dose oral steroid and empiric antibiotics.

Lumbopelvic Fixation with Bridged Distal Iliac Screws for Vertically Unstable Sacral Fractures.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to evaluate preliminary outcomes of vertically unstable sacral fractures treated by lumbopelvic fixation (LPF) augmented transiliac bridged screws.

Methods: From April 2017 to December 2019, fifteen consecutive patients with vertically unstable sacral fractures who had undergone LPF augmented transiliac bridged screws were enrolled. The radiological assessment included standard lumbopelvic x-rays and pelvic computed tomography (CT) to evaluate the lumbosacral angle (LSA), sacral kyphosis angle (SKA), lumbar lordosis angles (LLA) and Matta's reduction criterias (MRC).
