Purpose: This study aims to examine the effects of virtual reality applications on pain, anxiety, and vital signs during port catheter needle insertion in adult cancer patients.

Methods: The research followed a randomized controlled design as intervention and control groups. In the intervention group, patients received virtual reality sessions with five images in addition to routine procedures during the port catheter needle insertion.

Retrospective analysis of hemophilia B in Turkey: identifying main characteristics and treatment options.

Background: Hemophilia B (HB), an X-linked recessive inherited bleeding disorder, exhibits a high prevalence among males.

Objectives: To present the first national cohort of persons with HB to define the demographics, clinical characteristics, and treatment patterns in Turkey.

Methods: This multicenter, retrospective study included 433 alive persons with HB registered in 35 centers between 1961 and 2018.

Study Design: This is a retrospective study of 22 women who received Acar's uterine compressive atony sutures at a single tertiary hospital between January 2021 and November 2023. Demographic and obstetric data were collected.

Materials And Methods: Patients aged ≥18 years and diagnosed with stage IIB-IV classical HL receiving frontline chemotherapy (frontline cHL) and/or with relapsed/refractory HL (RRHL) from January 2010 to December 2013 were assessed.

Secukinumab May Be an Effective Treatment Option for Axial Spondyloarthritis and Psoriatic Arthritis Patients with a History of Malignancy: Multicenter Real-Life Experience from Turkey.

: Secukinumab is a monoclonal antibody against interleukin 17 approved for patients with axial spondyloarthritis (axSpA), psoriatic arthritis (PsA), and psoriasis. Treating axSpA and PsA patients with a history of malignancy is a challenge. While initial results on the applicability of secukinumab in this patient group are positive, the number of studies on this topic remains limited.

The validity and reliability of the Urostomy Education Scale: a methodological study.

Background: There are no scales used by stoma and wound care nurses to evaluate the stoma care skills of individuals with a urostomy.

Purpose: This study was conducted to investigate the Turkish validity and reliability of the Urostomy Education Scale (UES).

Methods: The study sample consisted of 66 patients who had undergone radical cystectomy, were in the 0- to 7-day postoperative period, were older than 18 years of age, had no physical or mental disabilities, had no urostomy complications, and agreed to participate in the study.

Background: Hydatid disease is a parasitic infection seen in endemic areas. Musculoskeletal hydatid disease is rarely reported.

Under inflammatory conditions, macrophage dominance affects the degree of inflammation. We assessed the effects of the active vitamin D (calcitriol) administration on inflammatory processes and macrophage dominance and aimed to determine the potential positive macroscopic and histological effects in supermicrosurgical arterial anastomosis model of rats. Forty rats were divided into five groups: control surgery (Group 1), surgery with preoperative (Group 2), post-operative (Group 3), perioperative (Group 4) systemic calcitriol and surgery with local calcitriol (Group 5).

Limbal graft transplantation: a rare implementation in pediatric limbal stem cell deficiency.

Purpose: To evaluate limbal graft transplantation success in pediatric patients with chemical injury-induced limbal stem cell deficiency (LSCD) using the 'LSCD Working Group' staging system.

Methods: Medical records of 11 eyes of 11 children who underwent limbal graft transplantation (limbal autograft/limbal allograft) were included. Surgical success was defined as improvement in the post-operative 1st year LSCD stage.

Schwannian and Perineuriomatous Differentiation in a Series of Giant Congenital Melanocytic Nevi.

Close relationship between melanocytes and neural cells is accepted to reflect their common derivation from the neural crest and tumors combining both elements. We present a series of 10 patients with giant congenital melanocytic nevi (CMN) in which a secondary proliferation (11 lesions) with schwannian and/or perineuriomatous differentiation developed in the course of the disease. The age of the patients (4 male and 6 female) at the time of surgery and histological assessment varied from 3 months to 57 years.

Surgical and Histopathological Results in Carotid Body Tumors.

Objective:  The possible relationships between the histopathological findings of carotid body tumors and age, gender, tumor diameter, and Shamblin classification were investigated. In addition, preoperative embolization status, development of neurological complications, need for vascular reconstruction, hemoglobin change, and discharge time were examined and the effects of these variables on each other were analyzed.

Methods:  Between 2008 and 2022, 46 cases who underwent carotid body tumor excision were examined retrospectively.

Examination of bone fractures in women exposed to domestic violence (Tokat-Turkey).

Background: Fractures are an important symptom of physical violence that will negatively affect the woman's quality of life in the coming years. However, there is limited information in the literature about fractures in women exposed to domestic violence (DV). The aim of this study was to compare fracture development rates and age distributions in women exposed to DV and intimate partner violence (IPV), a component of DV, and women exposed to other physical violence (OV), to determine the incidence of DV cases with and without fractures, and to determine fracture locations in DV cases and to identify diagnostic lesions accompanying fractures.
